Great location. The apartment is clean and very comfortable - would definitely come back.
The house was a great size and had plenty of space for a larger crowd. Some of the things we enjoyed were the great backyard, 2 living rooms, neat and clean and the decorated dining room. Some recommendations are providing bathroom essentials and adding air conditioning units for the bedrooms.
The property was great and the yard was perfect for children. I would rate 5 stars except the air conditioning did not cool the upstairs. It can be hot at night upstairs on warm evenings. Otherwise it was great
We had very last minute travels plans to visit our son at Brown University. Heidi and Charles were able to accommodate us at the last minute. The house was great and suited all our needs. It is spacious and cozy.We loved taking walks on the bike trail which is quite close to the house. We walked on the Linnear Bridge/Park over to Wickenden Street near Brown and RISD for coffee and also for a meal at a great little Indian Restaurant. Will return.
We stayed at this beautiful and charming house for a few days in January. The house is exactly as described in the listing. We chose this house because we wanted to try something different from staying at a hotel. The house did not disappoint:) The house is very well equipped, comfortable, bright and airy. There are numerous places to sit and enjoy tea and read quietly. The house had everything we needed: a SMART TV, washer/dryer/ironing board, great kitchen and very comfortable beds. We enjoyed our walks on the East Bay Bike Path and our walk over the bridge to all the shops and cafes/restaurants on the East Side of Providence. Heidi and Charles were attentive: they recommended a great restaurant and grocery store (we are foodies) which we really appreciated and answered all of our questions. They left maps, brochures, bus schedules and tourist info for us which proved quite helpful. We look forward to returning this summer so we can enjoy their yard and close proximity to beaches in RI and MA. Heidi and Charles invited us to their gallery in MA and absolutely loved the art. See you this summer and we hope to purchase one of your beautiful paintings! Amy and Tony
Eclectic furniture collection. Beds were very comfortable. Nice kitchen - very workable. We (five of us) stayed over New Year's weekend and discovered that the temperature upstairs in the bedrooms was about 4-5 degrees warmer than the temperature set on the thermostat on the main level and adjusted the thermostat manually at bed time and again after rising in the morning. Safety issues: (1) Only one working smoke detector in the house and bare wires hanging from where other smoke detectors were previously located. (2) No hand railing on the basement stairs - which are fairly steep and have narrow (shallow?) treads.
The property has a lovely yard and garden and steps away from Narragansett Bay and the bicycle trail which winds along the bay. There are public tennis courts and a track and playground/park 1 block from the property. Off-street parking. On bus line. 5 minutes to downtown Providence and colleges. 15 minutes to beautiful beaches. Much more please inquire!! We look forward to seeing you. Last season we had guests from Australia, France, Denmark, Scotland, Germany, Canada and all of the USA. Great for families as well. A bientot!
