Not Just for the Horse Lover
We are open to anybody that would just like to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We welcome bicycle, hiking/bushwalking and 4WD groups just to name a few.
Everyone can benefit from a weekend away on a farmstay getaway with a chance to experience the abundant wildlife this region has to offer - or maybe just to relive a childhood memory.
Lazy Days & Nights
You are able to start up the BBQ under the shady gazebo for breakfast, lunch or dinner or just relax and watch the dusk crawl in.
On those clear nights, we recommend you step outside for a glimpse of the night sky - don't forget to bring your telescope or borrow one from a good friend - you won't regret it.
The area surrounding Halls on Falls Homestead has some great hiking tracks, including 'Mt Buggery' located across the creek if you need to burn some energy. 20 mins to the top is the record to date (by walking).
There are also numerous tracks through the nearby Mt Disappointment State Forest to explore.
The Surrounding Area
Our region has an enormous amount to offer visitors ranging from the Goulburn River which is only a 10 minute drive and Yea township only 30 minutes drive, visiting the local wineries, pubs and farmers markets. There is also good fishing just past the township of Strath Creek at Richards Bridge.
For the bicycle rider, horse rider or walking enthusiasts, we are only a 9 minute drive from Kerrisdale which has an access point for the Great Victorian Rail Trail which can take you in either direction towards Tallarook or Yea and onto Mansfield.
You will realise that maybe just one weekend is not enough time to take in what is offered in this great part of Victoria. We are sure you will want to return and start where you left off - or maybe just do it all over again!
(Due to our vulnerable free range farm animals, we do not allow guests to bring their dog/s. We do have details of a Kennel/cattery in Seymour, Broadford or Clonbinane if you are in need of this service which is only 20mins drive away).

Such a beautiful place we hoped to go back
Loved the accomodation, I will be honest, the property photos on line do not do it justice the house and the farm is prettier and better kept. The accomodation better then expected. The phone service was probably the only issue as it was beyond limited and I did need to keep in constant communication with family. It made it hard with only one spot outside the kitchen that I could only talk and keep checking my phone. Other than that the place was amazing and so warming we would have loved to stay longer the kids loved the farm. Perfect to get away and be in the middle of the most picturesque place. The kids aged 4, 11 and 12 did not want to go home.
Hi Tash, Thank you so much for your lovely comments, We are so glad that you and your group enjoyed your stay. We hope your son did well in his event at the Go Cart track. Maybe we will see your group again some time in the future.
Had another wonderful weekend
We once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Halls on Falls. Great facilities for all concerned including the horses. Thank you.
Great base for local attactions. clean 2 bedroom cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Halls on Falls Homestead. The cottage was clean and very comfortable, with three good bedrooms, a well appointed kitchen and very comfortable living room. The wood fire heated the entire house, which has been well insulated. The property is off-grid, entirely using its solar panels to charge batteries (plus back-up generator if needed). It nestles into the Mt Disappointment forest, with good walks nearby. The farm just has 3 friendly horses plus Belvedere the goose and his brood of ducks and chooks. It is geared for horse-lovers, but lovely for cozy, lazy days walking then curling up by the fire in the evening. As it is 4km to the general store and half an hour to larger centres, you need to plan and bring provisions, but once there you are well away from the hurly burly world. An excellent location for a couple, or family, or group of friends - the two houses can be booked if required.
Excellent family adventure holiday
My extended family and I recently spent Easter at Halls on Falls. We were thoroughly impressed with everthing that Peter and Lisan had set up on the property. Our kids enjoyed the basketball ring ,pool ,bike trails and general freedom of farm life while the adults could relax with a wine or two on the deck enjoying the serenity. The houses are extremely clean and well appointed. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and all our needs were met and exceeded !! Thanks Peter and Lisan for an unforgettable Easter .
perfect for family getaway.
