The cottage is open plan, with a light and airy feeling. There is a garden at the front, as well as a large garden at the back on 2 levels, and is built on the side of a tree covered hill. The cottage is very close to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, so there are always beautiful birds flying through the garden on their way to and from the sanctuary.

Perfect location! Had everything we needed in the apartment. Was gorgeously decorated so cute and cosy. Would highly recommend this play to stay. Located right across from the beach and cafes. defiantly be back to stay again in the future!!

Basic accomodation

  • 2 of 5

We were really surprised at the lack of privacy as the living area is open to a number of houses out the back. There are no curtains or blinds in this area so once the lights are on at night there is no privacy.

We also found the place really run down. There were cobwebs everywhere and we put a blanket up to try and block some of the light in the bedroom and it was full of dirt/sand. There are barely any screens so when night came and we had to close the place up to keep the bugs out, it got quite warm.

A positive is that there was a TV with a DVD player which I hadn't expected.

Owner's Response: Sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. A couple of weeks before you arrived we had to cut down A number of trees in the back yard which took away a lot of the previous privacy. We have now put blackout blinds in both the lounge room and the bedroom. With regard to the conwebs - I'm afraid this is the downside of being surrounded by trees and bush.

Cheap and Cheerful!

  • 5 of 5

We have friends at Palm Beach so we couldn't have found a better location for the price. Ample space for a one-bedder even with two children. Its nestled up the hill in quite, leafy surrounds (as opposed to panoramic views to the four lane Gold Coast highway at three times the price) and close to just about everything you could want or need. Very good value for money. I'd suggest connecting the TV audio out (headphones) to the stereo input ("MD" function) via a 3.5mm male/male audio chord, for a better quality sound!

Great value !

  • 5 of 5

A great little simple older style place and a real antidote to the high rises and bland motels in the area. A little bit like a step back in time with some modern twists like the bathroom which is up to modern day standards. A one bedroom place but they let 4 of us stay and it worked out less than the local backpackers ! Great value : )

A very disappointing property

  • 1 of 5

We found the property very unclean and the balcony very unsafe for young children with wide gaps and rotten boards. The kitchen sink cupboards stunk and had not been cleaned for ages with dirty old dishcloths. As an ex stays property owner it certainly is not how I ran my property for this price.

Owner's Response: I'm very sorry that you weren't happy. Regarding the cleanliness, our usual cleaner was on holidays and we used a casual person who we will not be using again!! There was one floorboard on the veranda that was rotting from rain damage and this has been fixed. The veranda balustrades will be replaced with wire balustrades in the next few weeks. Thanks for your feedback.
