La Grange is a delightful detached two bedroom gite, opposite the main farmhouse at La Fon Rouge. It has lovely views from its private terrace area and access to the shared pool. It has a large fully fitted kitchen and a spacious separate lounge with a sofa bed.
La Fon Rouge is situated in the hamlet of Boudy de Beauregard near Cancon with superb views across the magnificent French countryside in the beautiful Lot-et-Garonne region.
With 2.5 hectares of park and woodland, it is an ideal place to relax with a drink on the terrace or by the 10m x 5m pool, with plenty of room for the children to play safely.
An ideal location for your self catering holiday to explore this delightful region of France which remains largely undiscovered adjacent to the busier Dordogne. Not only for your summer holiday rental but for all year round rental, as all three properties have central heating.
The pool is not heated so is open in the summer period from mid-May to the end of September.
Really nice property in a splendid part of France! plenty of space for the kids to play In the gite is enough space for a family and has everything you wish.
As a family of four with very busy lives we wanted a tranquil haven far from the maddening crowd. We really found this here. It is such a tranquil beautiful place! We have two small girls with lots of energy so they lived in the pool and garden. The grounds are huge and safe and so well.maintained. The pool is spectacular. Salt water and not cold at all. My 6 year old learned to swim here! The house is charming and lovely and cool on hot nights. No issues with mosquitoes despite the rural setting.. Spectacular views everywhere. Loved it!
Had a great stay; thanks for having us!
Gite was lovely and the weather was just right. Beautiful garden to walk around and our dog had the best time running around the fields.
We just had a fantastic holiday!
We stayed in La Grange for 2 weeks in August 2015. The gite is very well equipped, with a lovely kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of space (we're a family of four), and the added bonus of some UK TV channels for an occasional rainy day!
The pool is absolutely superb, with lovely views across open fields to Monflanquin. The property is lovely and quiet, with fantastic views of starry skies on a clear evening.
Ideally situated for touring the area, Monflanquin is just a few km away (with beautiful main square and excellent food), as is the Lot river to the south and east and the Dordogne valley around 45 min north. There is a beautiful swimming lake nearby, and plenty to entertain - caves, valleys, chateaux etc. - without the crowds of the Dordogne area.
All in all - we had a lovely 2 weeks here, highly recommended to anyone wishing to explore this corner of France. Many thanks to owners Ian and Keith for making us so welcome.
A great place to relax, plenty of vineyard's to visit in beautiful Bergerac countryside. Bastide's abound for the more adventurous explorer.
Excellent walking area with good maps and well marked way paths
La Grange has been our holiday 'home' for the last 3 years. A farm outbuilding converted with graceful simplicity into a gite. The surrounding grounds and scenary are magnificent and peaceful. The other gites are just as pleasant and all discreetly positioned away from each other. Children... and parents have enjoyed so many local activities from crayfishing to picking up figs and plums to canoeing, go-aping and cycling to a nearby baker in Montaut. Let's not forget the pool around which we've had splashes and chats but also quiet time. Much more could be said but La Fon Rouge and its region deserves to be discovered and experienced.
A truly wonderful holiday. A very well equipped house. Perfect for 2 families staying at la Fon Rouge. Beautifully clean and well presented. Would definitely recommend and return in future years.
The lot valley, south of the Dordogne is a beautiful, unspoiled, temperate and largely undiscovered area of self West France nestling between the Lot and the Garonne rivers.
The open countryside of gentle hills and valleys provides a sense of freedom far away from the hustle and bustle of normal life, and all within driving distance of the popular Dordogne region. With forests, vineyards, and famland set amongst the many charming hill top bastide towns such as Monflanquin, Villereal, Monpazier. The area is steeped with history, being part of the battlefield for the 100 years war. Only 3km from Cancon and 8km from Monflanquin both with shops, banks and restaurants. The swimming lake at Lougratte is only 5kms away. There are many vineyards nearby, including the famous St Emilion and Bergerac regions. Bordeaux is 90 mins away.
Bergerac airport is only 40 kms away, and has regular flights from the UK, including regional airports such as Southampton, Bristol and Exeter.
