Two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath with washer/dryer in quiet mountain area
About Howie Wemyss
I've lived in the White Mountains full time since 1971, moving "north of the Notch" to Randolph in 2003. In 2006 my wife, Sue and I purchased the home we had seasonally rented for several years and became proud Randolph home owners and landlords. After many years of renting year round, we decided to renovate the attached apartment and rent only in the summer season via VRBO. We're both avid hikers, birders, mountain bikers and travelers with a keen love of the outdoors that we'd love to share with you when you stay in Randolph.
Howie Wemyss purchased this Apartment in 2006
Why Howie Wemyss chose Randolph
Randolph Hill, where our home and apartment are located, is one of those amazing places in the White Mountains that is close enough to all you need for enjoying the outdoors, but far enough away from it all to be quiet, private and secluded. Shopping and commercial amenities are 15 - 45 minutes away, the hiking trails are 15 seconds away! I first looked at "Hill" properties 30 years ago in another life when I was renovating homes and looking for that perfect place with mountain views and southern exposure - and here we are finally living the dream. Stay here and you'll see!
What makes this Apartment unique
If you love the quiet outdoors, want to be away from the crowds and right on the hiking trails, this is the vacation apartment you've been looking for. With a beautiful view to the mountains and located on dead end Randolph Hill Road, it's very quiet, peaceful and serene. You could be perfectly happy sitting on the sunny deck all day reading a book with the sounds of the birds for a backdrop, or step out the door onto the Short Circuit Path to connect to the rest of the 100+ mile Randolph Mountain Club maintained hiking trail system. The night sky is absolutely amazing since we're far away from strong light sources - shooting stars, the Milky Way and passing satellites are all part of the show. We'll provide the local knowledge to get you to the places that will make this one of your most memorable vacations. Family attractions, scenic wonders, renowned outlet shopping - all within 60 minutes. Nearby Gorham, NH (5 minutes drive) has many restaurant options when you're ready to dine out - and one special pub called "SAaLT". Jackson, NH (30 minutes drive) has more restaurants and pubs, shopping and scenery. North Conway, NH (45 minutes drive) has dozens of unique shops as well as brand name outlet shopping and, of course, more restaurants and pubs.

Lovely Fall Long Weekend!
Everything about Howie and Sue’s place is amazing. The fall views from the porch and picture windows were outstanding, the ability to hike out of the apartment and the cozy home feel to come back to. The place had everything we needed including key hiking maps and books with recommendations. Our dog loved all of our hikes - we always appreciate dog friendly VRBOs! Would absolutely return to this lovely NH gem. Thank you so much for a wonderful way to spend our wedding anniversary!
Thank you, Sarah! We're so glad you saw Randolph in all it's fall glory and got in a few hikes. We'll hope to see you again!

Lovely property with gorgeous mountain views
The apartment is located in beautiful woods with a spectacular view of the Presidential Range. The property was exceptionally clean and neat, beds and living area comfortable. Guides and maps were available for nearby hikes. We loved it.
Thank you for staying with us in Randolph! We're glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again. H & S
A Wonderful Place!
Property was wonderful! Very comfortable and in a quiet location with a spectacular view! A great place to relax and unwind. Everything was ready with everything needed, including full kitchen, linens and washer/dryer.
A wide variety of hiking is available nearby, in fact, right out the front door (Randolph Mountain Club trails). Also, access to the trail network (RMC & AMC) on the lower slopes of Mount Madison is right on Rt. 2, only about 2-3 miles away at the Appalachia parking area. A short hike there yesterday brought me to numerous beautiful views of Snyder Brook and its many cascades and pools. Even without that the hike was a beautiful one.
I will certainly plan to return in the future! Thank you Howie and Sue!
Happy to have you here in Randolph, Jim! We'll look forward to your return. Thank you for the great review!
Clean and cozy with lovely mountain views. Highly recommended.
Thank you! Hope to see you here again.
Great Mountain Retreat
Beautiful property, plenty of room yet cozy, comfortable, quiet.
Washer and dryer a huge plus. We loved coming home at night, retreating to the deck and staring at the stars!
Ah, the stars! One of the highlights of a summer evening on the deck! So glad to share it with you. Thanks for the review, hope to see you again.
The White Mountains of New Hampshire have long been renowned for their scenic beauty. From the early 1800s travelers have been coming here for relaxation as well as recreation. With the arrival of the first railroad in nearby Gorham in the mid 1800s, tourism became, and is still, a major part of the economy. It's every bit as beautiful here today as it was in those early years.
Your vacation opportunities are as varied as you want them to be. Walking and hiking trails are right out the door, mountain biking is a short drive away, scenic drives are in every direction and can be from an hour to all day depending on your interests. We can suggest scenic loops of every description focusing on waterfalls, mountain views or moose watching. We also can tell you where the shopping options are from NH made products and handmade crafts to outlet shopping in brand name stores.
The Mt Washington Auto Road is hard to beat for an amazing trip above the treeline to the summit of the highest mountain in the Northeast. Drive yourself for a thrilling adventure or sit back on a guided tour and leave the driving to the talented driver/guides.
Our apartment is stocked with hiking guide books and local trail maps and we'll be happy to help you map out your hiking adventures while you're here - or equally happy to have you do your own exploring.
