Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

First time my husband and I went away and EXQUISITE. The location was ideal, the view was picturesque and the hospitality was great. Thank you Nerolie for sharing your home with us. The home was cosy, well equipped and inviting. Would definitely book again – the husband already misses it.

Relaxing & Charming Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Cosy Cottage situated well back from the main road, offering peace & privacy. The retreat has a lovely garden & my son enjoyed the pool. The décor inside the cottage has a 'Victorian' style which was inviting & charming. Further, the hostess was very helpful during our stay.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here at orange blossom! Everything was perfect, house was clean and beds were comfy! As mentioned in the description, the kitchen is very small but stocked enough for simple meals. Thanks Nerolie!

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Orange Blossom. House is beautifully decorated, has the most comfortable bedding and is in a great location. Kitchen is small as advertised in the ad but it worked for the 2 of us as we were keen to try the different delicacies offered in the town. Did not use the pool or the BBQ but spent time relaxing in the house which was perfect. Bread, fruits, wine and chocolate were greatly appreciated.Thank you so much for your hospitality!!!

Not suited for long stays

  • 3 of 5

We were a little disappointed with our stay. Bedrooms are delightfully decorated and you can see a lot of work has gone into the décor and the air-conditioning was fabulous as it was quite hot upstairs but the lounge, even though suiting the period, is extremely uncomfortable and looks like it has needed replacing or re-cushioned for a long time. We were looking forward to trying the local jam and fresh homemade bread. There was no jam and the bread was store purchased and not enjoyable but we did appreciate the champagne and chocolates. The fridge is a bar fridge with only one shelf. Had we have known this on booking we would have not booked here as it did not suit our needs for a 7 night stay and the kitchen space is way too small to cook in. The pool was enjoyable but constantly dirty and we had to keep putting in and pulling out the ladder so it didn't interfere with the creepy crawly that was permanently in the pool. The 'retreat' is actually an addition to the owners house. So even though advertised as private, it isn't really as the house overlooks the pool and the owner, whilst a lovely lady, wondered around a lot near the retreat. We ended up leaving a day early as the discomfort in the lounge and being unable to lounge back and just relax and read a book in comfort was impossible. Also the second bedroom does get a lot of the traffic noise as it is on a main road even though built back from it. I would recommend staying if for 1-2 nights to see the area but I think for more, it may not be suited.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for stating the things you enjoyed about Orange Blossom Retreat. Regards the pool. It was unfortunate that over most of the time of your stay the pool was malfunctioning and I couldn't do anything, as I was waiting for the pool service people to come and fix it.It was over the holiday season and it was difficult to get maintenance people. My pool is otherwise always clean. I make this a priority. As you will see, in all my other reviews no one has mentioned having a problem with the pool. You mentioned seeing me on the property allot of that time. That was because I was at the pool trying to clean it as well as I could, before the pool people came. I am generally not at home when guests are in Orange Blossom Retreat. If I am at home, I always endeavor to keep quiet and out of sight. I always want to respect my guests privacy. The way the house is set up, Orange Blossom Retreat faces the back of the property and my part of the house faces the front. In regards to the bread. I no longer make it myself but I order it freshly made on the day of your arrival from a local Kangaroo Valley resident. It is delicious. I no longer give home made jams and you will see this on my website. In regards to the small kitchen. I do make this clear on the website that it is a kitchenette only and suitable for making simple meals. If I have an enquiry for 6 people for the Retreat, I do make it very clear to them that it has a kitchenette only and a small bar fridge. I recognize this could be an issue for staying for a long period of time with so many people. Regards the lounge, it is a very beautiful, unique lounge suite and no one has commented before that it was not comfortable. In fact I have had many comments on the comfort of the lounge and the of whole place. Regards, Nerolie
