This very cute cottage was a fun place for us.

  • 5 of 5

This was a very neat, clean and cute cottage. We enjoyed using the kitchen as it had a fine gas stove, good cookware, and utensils. The living room was very comfortable with cable/ internet. Dining casually using the sturdy table and chairs. I enjoyed the back porch which also served as a playroom for a child. The upstairs accommodated 2 kids and Mom with a full bedroom downstairs for the old people close to the bathroom. The front patio and the big maple with outdoor chairs and grill were used well and the hydrangea bush had ample bouquets other quiet cottages around. The back yard is a common area and really large for playing ball on a neatly manicured lawn. The river was really stunning but you have to walk to see it. The beach on the property was needing to be cleaned of some debris and there was an uninviting "no swimming sign". Just next door is a nature reserve, not far you can walk on a well kept trail down to isolated beach spots for swimming that could also be dog friendly. The river was lower than usual which made it slow and sleepy, safe for kids. At this reserve there is parking and a kiosk which allows you to borrow a trail guide with descriptions of the fauna one can appreciate on the trail. Kayak and horseback riding and the great Polar Caves was close as well as many more opportunities for outdoor adventures in the wonderful White Mountains. This place was a good value for us and having my dog with me made it a near perfect vacay!

Good value for the price!

  • 4 of 5

My husband, two children, and myself stayed here for one week. We loved the proximity to both the White Mountains and the Lakes regions. Only a 10 min drive to big chain stores like Walmart. The interior has everything you need and was clean too. We especially enjoyed the small screened in porch at the back of the house. The only negatives were that the dishwasher was broken, would have liked some hooks to hang wet towels, and most of the private beach on the Pemi River was washed away. If you are looking to enjoy nature but don't want to "rough it" then this is the way to go. Much more convenient than camping and not much more money. We will definitely rent again if we are in the area!

Cozy, peaceful

  • 4 of 5

Pleased enough. This chalet-like cabin is in a complex with several others, not far off the freeway exit. It is mostly occupied by commuters and the result is a sleepy little community. There's a large clean green space between a circle of small homes, containing a pool and a basketball court to the side. There's also a community fire pit. The kitchen is modest but serves its purpose. My only complaint is there were no common condiments, oil or even salt and pepper. We did leave some that we had to buy. Also, there are no games, decks of cards, so we resorted to the age-old custom of TV. The TV has basic cable. The bathroom shower works well and the space was large enough for our family of four. You can walk to a place to eat next to the covered bridge. Their desserts are well worth the price. Also, there is a short trail along the river.

Location was perfect.

  • 4 of 5

Visiting family in the area we found this to be the perfect and more affordable option. Located on the Pemi (5 min walk to great beach, with a view of Blair Bridge) we were close to everything Dining, shopping, Polar Caves and most important family.

The Chalet was clean, from towels to blankets to garbage bags it was well equipped. Food was really the only thing we needed to bring.

It will be used again.
