If you are wishing to stay for a weekend only (Fri/Sat/Sun), then we will adjust the 5 night minimum stay if it fits within our calendar, however, please note that the rates go up for weekend only stays (usually around $25/night depending on the season).

We also offer a Studio vacation rental called Eagle's Nest Studio on the ground level to the left of the garage (see HomeAway Listing #907674) and another two bedroom unit called the Mountain Side Unit (see HomeAway Listing #382004vb). All three listings may be rented simultaneously. The outdoor hot tub is shared between these three listings.

There are 3 exits off I-70 that services Vail. Our location in West Vail is not ski in, ski out, if that is a requirement we recommend staying in the Vail Village or Lions Head. Larkspurhome is a non-smoking property.

About Billy Marcus

I split my time between Vail & Austin, TX. I am an avid swing & lindy hop dancer and travel all over the US competing & social dancing. My goal is to some day live in the Vail Valley full time and help build a local dance community. Though my passion is dancing & teaching dance, my career is selling meat or other protein based foods all over the world. I'm fulfilling the destiny of a long line of meat traders from back in the 1930's when my grandfather sold meat for Swift in Chicago. Another passion of mine is snowboarding & telemark skiing, lately it's been all about telemarking.

Why Billy Marcus chose West Vail

I grew up in Kansas and my parents met at CU Boulder. They both have an affinity towards mountain living. Naturally we grew up vacationing in this area and picked Vail because it's one of the best ski resorts in America. We wanted a home centrally located between Vail, Minturn, Beaver Creek, Avon & Edwards making the drive to both ski areas within 10 - 15 minutes. We also enjoy cooking and having Safeway & City Market within a 3 minute drive helps feed our passion.

What makes this house unique

I wanted to have a place in Vail that was close enough to rely on public transportation to get to the town of Vail but central enough to drive down valley to Avon & Edwards. The home is in a private, residential neighborhood which is close to the park & Stephens Off Leash dog park and a three minutes walk to the Meadow Creek Bus stop that picks up every 15 to 30 minutes depending on the season. The private shared hot tub allows our guests to unwind after a long day of activities. We are dog friendly for non-aggressive breeds.

I definitely plan to stay here again. The house is fantastic, we were VERY comfortable in the 2.5 bedroom east unit. A great, large and nicely equipped kitchen was ideal for us as we cooked several really large meals, and the big hot tub right outside the door was amazing for after skiing. A short walk to the west vail bus was rather convenient as well. The owner is also very accommodating and easygoing, overall a painless experience renting from her. A pleasure.

Good for a couple. Not for larger groups.

Clean property. Easy to find. Smaller than appears in pictures. No door to master bedroom. Actually a loft. Open area so no privacy for couples rooming with others or folks with kids.

Clean, convenient, and affordable in West Vail

We stayed in the Valley View property in West Vail for 5 nights. I had concerns about the property being "pet-friendly" as I am allergic, but really wanted a private hot tub, so figured I'd give it a shot. The home was VERY clean, and had absolutely no sign of pets having stayed there. All agreed that the beds were comfortable, and the hot tub was also clean and in great shape. The walk to the Vail Bus stop is short, as advertised. The parking/garage/driveway is pretty tight if all three units are being used, so consider a smaller rental vehicle... The Escalade won't fit, so go with the Malibu. The grocery stores are close, and the kitchen has everything you'll need... We only gave Vail money for one meal during our stay. Sure, the kitchen could stand to be updated, but I'd rather have white appliances and Formica counter tops, than pay another $400/week. Everything else in the home was updated and quite nice.

Billy is an attentive host, and answered all of my questions promptly. I'd definitely stay here again with two couples or 3 guys, max. If your group is bigger than that, consider renting both of the upstairs units. Billy's prices are affordable enough that you can have space and convenience, without breaking the bank.

This is a private residential home that's been converted into a duplex with a Studio attached is in a quiet neighborhood in West Vail called Intermountain. Our property is within walking distance to a beautiful park with a large playscape for children as well as Stephens Park Off Leash Dog Area which is a great place to let your dogs play in the summer or winter time. There are bike paths to connect you towards Vail or down valley and the Meadow Creek bus stop that picks up every 15 to 30 minutes (depending on time of day & time of year) will transport you to the Cascade Lift, Lion's Head Village, and Vail Village as well as West Vail Mall and City Market & Safeway grocery stores for free.

There is a City Market & Safeway w/ Starbucks inside nearby for groceries and pharmacy items. There is also a sporting goods store, fast food, liquor store, hardware and $1 movie rentals inside City Market/Safeway, including a Redbox video rental outside McDonalds.

The restaurants in the area (within 1 to 1.2 miles) include the following:

Bearfish Saloon: Located next to the Holiday Inn, this bar and grill specializes in bar food, live music, and is a great place to watch sports games.

May Palace : Located in the Vail Commons next to City Market. Some of the best Chinese food in the Valley! Daily lunch and après ski specials also available.

McDonald's: Located right off the West Vail exit, this McDonald's has everything you need including a RedBox DVD rental.

Mi Zuppa: Located next to Safeway, Mi Zuppa is Colorado's best place for a fast lunch and dinner specializing in a large selection of fresh and healthy soups, made to order sandwiches, wraps and panini's, freshly baked cookies, and local catering.

Sandbar Sports Bar & Grill: Located in the West Vail Mall, next to McDonald's. The Sandbar is known for its live entertainment and is a great place to watch any sporting event! Serves lunch and dinner along with full bar service.

Subway: Located just West of Safeway, Subway is your one stop shop for sandwiches.

Taco Bell: Located in the same strip as Subway and Mi Zuppa, Taco Bell provides your mexican fast food needs.
