Apartment in Old Copenhagen on Nyhavn Canal

Bedrooms 1
Space 950 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

This apartment was fully renovated and restored in 2004 with walls of Venetian stucco, plank floors and Italian tiles. It is light and comfortable with views to both North and South into old copplestone courtyards. It has a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, freezer and dishwasher. The bathroom has a shower, washer and dryer. The bedroom has a queen size bed plus a large storage closet. In the living room there is a couch that folds out as sleeping space for additional two persons, if needed.

The apartment is in a 250 year old house in Nyhavn, withdrawn to the courtyards in the back of the front row. The canal of Nyhavn was created in early 1700th century so that traders could sail their cargo ships right up to the front row of warehouses. Now it is the restaurant and cafe haven of Copenhagen where people stroll all day.

The square of Kongens Nytorv next to Nyhavn is the Center of Old Copenhagen. Here you have the Royal Theatre, Magasin du Nord and it is where the shopping street Stroeget starts. On Stroeget you will find Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen and Illum plus Ecco's store. The square also has a Metro (subway) station which can take you to most places in Copenhagen and directly into Copenhagen Airport.

If you change from the Metro to the suburban trains, you can ride to Helsingor and visit Kronborg (Hamlet's Castle) or to Hillerod and visit Frederiksborg Castle built in the early seventeenth hundreds.

The best place to stay in Copenhagen!

  • 5 of 5

I really can't say enough about this beautiful and comfortable apartment. The location, on a quiet courtyard with the downstairs front door leading right onto Nyhaven is amazing- so quiet, yet so close to so much activity (and good food). The apartment was spotless, the appliances state of the art, and the sunlight coming through every window just made you smile to be there. The picture of the view from the kitchen window says it all!

Peter, and his representative in Copenhagen Simon, were ever so helpful with all of the arrangements, and responded to any questions we had in a timely manner. Simon met us at the front door and showed us how everything in the apartment worked, and even left a cell phone for us to use locally for taxis, reservations, etc. I hope to return myself one day, but in the meantime I would highly recommend this as 'the best place to stay in Copenhagen "! I just don't see how it could get any better.

beautiful flat in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Two of us stayed here for four nights recently. The location in Nyhavn can't be beat. Even though we were steps away from all the glitter and chatter of canalside life, our retreat was calm, clean and quiet. The charming apartment has all the amenities one might want, and Simon, who greeted us with keys and suggestions/instructions, couldn't have been more welcoming and responsive.

Everything about our rental was perfect, from the booking to the departure. We arrived in Copenhagen on Christmas Day, when the on-site manager was unavailable and the alternate came down with the flu. They kindly arranged for us to pick up keys and a cell phone from a restaurant on Nyhavn, and then walked us through the entry and details via the provided phone. It worked perfectly. Simon checked in with us a few times to make sure we were doing all right, with suggestions for grocery stores and such. We had a spectacular stay in Copenhagen, and the apartment was wonderfully situated--the building is right on busy Nyhavn, but the apartment is tucked back a bit and away from the noise. We actually enjoyed all the steps up to the 4th floor, and made a game of beating the timed stairway light up to the door. We were a part of 4 and thus used the bed and the air bed; I wouldn't recommend the sofa bed. The kitchen was convenient and well-equipped, there was plenty of hot water, the bathroom was spacious. Copenhagen is a beautiful city, and this apartment is absolutely perfectly located, with all the major attractions within about a mile, and a very convenient metro stop a 5 minute walk if you want to go farther afield. I only wish we had stayed through New Year's Day, as that seems to be quite a celebration for the Danes. Next time!

Perfect location, absolutely lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

It's hard to describe what a perfect spot this apartment is in. The front door of the building opens onto the the cobblestone walkway next to the Nyhavn Canal and puts you right in the middle of the loveliest neighborhood in the city. We walked everywhere in the city and looked forward to coming back to the apartment at night. I should also note that it is a very short walk from the Metro and the bus and it was very simple to get the Metro to and from the airport.

The apartment itself is delightful - everything we needed was there, the bed was comfortable and it was immaculately clean. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with and we really appreciated being met at the apartment by Simon, despite the fact that our flight was late. We also appreciated some of the restaurant recommendations that were given to us and found all of them to be spot on.

I highly recommend this apartment for a stay and beautiful Copenhagen!

First visit to Copenhagen

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were visiting our son who was studying abroad. There are simply not enough accolades to fully express how much we loved this beautifully appointed and quaint apartment in the heart of Old Copenhagen. Everything was so conveniently located, including restaurants, shopping, transportation, etc. Peter was wonderful to work with, so very helpful and accommodating. Our lovely accommodations helped make this a trip of a lifetime.

Beautiful spacious apartment in the best location.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in this lovely apartment. It was surprisingly quiet despite the fact that it was in such a lively central location. Beautiful large living room, bathroom and bedroom. Simon greeted us when we arrived and helped us up the stairs with our bags. He had fresh flowers on the table. What a lovely touch. It is in such a central location that we walked anywhere we needed to go. We did take the ferry over to the opera house, but we could have walked there and did walk home. Just watch out for the bikes. If we return to Copenhagen, we will make sure Peters apartment is available before we book our flights. Dont hesitate to stay here.
