A wonderful hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

The photos of this property do not do it justice. It is a lovely large house with four double bedrooms and two spacious living areas, not to mention two bathrooms, a fully functional kitchen, a beautiful long balcony overlooking the estuary and a rambling garden full of sunshine and flowers.

The house is well decorated, comfortable, warm in winter, draught-proof, spotlessly clean and peaceful.

We spent a lazy weekend here reading, lounging on the balcony, strolling on the beach at low tide, cooking huge roast dinners, drinking wine and being still. The stars at night are dizzying, and if you are really lucky you might catch a glimpse of the Aurora Australis right from the balcony.

Maryanne was incredibly helpful, arranging for somebody to go and put on the heating for our late arrival on a wintry night. She also allowed a late checkout on the Monday which was lovely.

25 minutes to the airport, 5 minutes to our favourite Carlton Beach, 2 minutes to the local IGA and less than 10 minutes to a big Coles, Woolworths, bottle shops and takeaway places. 30 seconds to the steps down to the estuary beach (walkable as long as it is not high tide). A pile of kids' toys and a high chair if you need them. A kitchen full of the essentials such as cooking oil, tin foil, pasta and spices.

Mobile internet is patchy on Vodafone and ok on Optus as long as you are not trying to live stream a video conference or anything. Not sure about Telstra.

Can't recommend this property highly enough.

Space for relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for a relaxing family holiday. Plenty of space for a large family with everything a family would need (cot etc). Beach accessed from the backyard is safe for little ones & we had it to ourselves! Lots of fishing too. A perfect place to have a quiet holiday with all the comforts required. Thanks

wonderful relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We were all able to recharge our batteries whilst attending a friend's wedding.

We felt very much at home but wished it could have been longer.

There is everything you need.... not that we cooked much but all those extras like oil, condiments were there if we had.

2 bathrooms was a bonus. The view is superb.

Older property but roomy, comfortable and peaceful

On arrival property was a bit more "lived in" than we had anticipated however initial doubt faded as we enjoyed the views and wildlife while breakfasting on the balcony, the quiet nights and the copies room allowing people to find there own space when needed.

Excellent value for money

  • 5 of 5

A great place to stay with the whole family. We stayed in Winter and the house was warm, cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, firewood is cut up at the door and the supermarket is only 10 minutes away. Awesome views from the bedrooms and deck. There is also a beautiful walking track along the water right at the gate. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful stay

  • 5 of 5

Warm cozy house in a quiet area, lovely views over water. It was the at the start of winter so the open fire place was most pleasant. Felt like a home away from home. You need a car but all of groceries and food is only 10 mins drive away in Sorrell which is a lovely little town.
