I love the outdoors especially my time on Dauphin Island with my husband Phil. We have spent many incredible hours walking & talking on the beach, watching sunsets, relaxing on the porch with good friends, seeing the night stars away from the lights of the city.
Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2000
We bought our beach house in 2000 for ourselves and our two labrador retrievers because Dauphin Island has dog friendly beaches. It reminded Dot of what beaches were like 30 years ago in South Carolina, family friendly, uncluttered and fun.
Our house is on West Beach which is all single family homes with no condos. It is walking distance to the beach (you don't have to cross the road to get there). You can hear the waves crashing, the sea gulls and buoy sounds and the dogs love it as much as we do!
We are vacationing here for the first time but not the last. This home is perfect. It is open and super clean - very spacious. We love the island. We have gone to the Fort Morgan area many times but like this more. We tried several places to eat and liked them all. The locals are great. It was such a relaxing place to spend a week. The breeze, the deck, the sun ... There is not a negative to say - except that we have to leave. Thank you for such a great house.
This was our first trip to Dauphin Island and we are hoping it won't be the last. Just Chillin' is everything it is advertised to be and more. Everything you need is provided. It is very nicely decorated and just felt like home. It has great beach views, a very short walk to the beach, pet friendly and our two dogs loved it. The staff at Island Resort Management are very easy to work with and took very good care of us for the two months we were there and those two months went by way too quickly. I would like to say a special thank you to Dot and Carla. They are the best!!
Just Chillin' was everything it was advertised to be and more. We had a great relaxing week and enjoyed all that Dauphin Island has to offer. The house is comfortable, wonderfully decorated, has a fully equipped kitchen and the deck has more than enough room for everyone to enjoy. We took the ferry over to Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores and back - we had lunch at one of our old favorite places, The Original Oyster House. But I have to say that we enjoyed the steamed seafood that we got from Skinner's Seafood just as much - we had the steamed royal red shrimp, crab legs, stone crab claws and all the fixings. All we had to do was call, order and pick it up -- could not be easier or better. We enjoyed breakfast at the Lighthouse Bakery - it was wonderful. We enjoyed lunch at JT's Sunset Grill - my husband said it was the best blackened amberjack he ever had! We hope to return for another great week very soon. Thanks to Elizabeth for making the rental process so very easy.
We carried the whole family and had the greatest vacation!!! The owners were very nice and answered any questions we had. The island was very beautiful. Kids really enjoyed the estuary and Fort Gaines. Watching the dolphins play out in the ocean every morning was priceless as was watching my 3 year old grandaughter chase the little crabs and try to catch them when the ocean waves uncovered them in the sand. Skinners Seafood had excellent shrimp and the lattes at The Lighthouse Bakery were the best we have ever had. The home was very nice and clean. We look forward to coming again.
If you want to spend some time in a beautiful home on a gorgeous beach, choose Just Chillin...we just spent a week there with our two grown daughters. The home is lovely with all the amenities you need to be comfortable, relaxed, enjoy the serenity of Dauphin Island, cook meals at home, walk the beach, read books on the huge deck, and de-stress from life. We appreciated the fact that it was pet-friendly. The floor plan allowed us to all be together but still have our space. What an awesome way to begin 2012!
The house is beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. Short walk to the beach. Annie(Lab) and Chloe( St. Bernard) like the house and walking on the beach also.
Dauphin Island has the Audubon Bird Santuary which is the home of many migrating species. There are boardwalk trails through the woods to the lake and to the beach with information on birds and other wildlife along the way.
