About the property

4 bedroom family home on 6 acres: an authentic country lifestyle experience

Tricklebeck is set on 6 acres of natural bushland on the exclusive Shipley Plateau with a huge paddock and peaceful gardens. Give your family an authentic country lifestyle experience: feed our pet alpacas, Pedro and Sylvester; collect eggs for your breakfast from our chickens, go yabbying in our magnificent dam and toast marshmallows in the outdoor fire pit. Or just watch your kids jump for hours on our giant enclosed trampoline.

The cosy family home has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8 comfortably. The master bedroom has a queen bed and en suite, the second bedroom has a double bed, bedroom 3 has a bunk bed -2 singles- and the fourth bedroom has two single beds which can be converted to a king if need be. All the beds have electric blankets and both of the bathrooms have heated towel racks and heating lights. All bedrooms have heaters in winter or fans in summer.

The living room has a roaring combustion fire with firewood provided. It also has reverse cycle air conditioning/heating and a TV and DVD and blue tooth speaker.

The extendable dining setting seats up to eight and the kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, microwave and coffee machine.

There is also a laundry with a third toilet, washing machine, drier and iron for your convenience.

Additionally there is a large decked area for outdoor dining with a large BBQ as well as a quiet private balcony overlooking the fully fenced dam. The dam is great place to swim in summer! For the kids there is a huge enclosed trampoline, a swing set, a basket ball hoop and an array of sports equipment. Inside, they will find an entire wardrobe filled with toys and games!

The property has an abundance of native wildlife, including an array of birdlife that visit each morning and evening. Several wombats live on the property and the paddock is often visited by wallabies and kangaroos.

We also have a one bedroom luxury studio cottage on the property and can be rented out for larger groups. See "Tricklebeck Cottage" on this website.

Blackheath and surrounds

Tricklebeck is only minutes drive from some of the areas best bushwalks and lookouts. Visit Hargraves Lookout for amazing views over Megalong and Kanimbla Valleys. Or drive down to Megalong Valley, through the rainforest and go horseriding or visit the tearooms for a yummy Devonshire tea. Shipley is also famous for its apple orchard, Logan Brae; some of the best rock climbing in Australia, hang gliding and the oldest and arguably one of the best bush walks in the mountains - Porters Pass.

Tricklebeck is only 5 minutes drive from the village of Blackheath, with its excellent range of restaurants, antique shops and lovely cafes and specialty shops. You must try the sourdough from one of the two local bakeries or visit the New Ivanhoe for good old fashioned pub style meals.

Perfect Blue Mountains break

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we've stayed at Tricklebeck. The house is lovely. Very comfortable and all the facilities need for a holiday. There are plenty of toys and sports equipment to keep the kids entertained. My daughter loved feeding the chooks and collecting eggs. Pedro and Silvester the alpacas are entertaining along with the swings and huge trampoline. The house has everything the adults could want - warm fire, comfy chairs and a large deck to relax on. The wine, loaf of bread and milk were a nice surprise.

I have recommended this house to lots of friends who agree it's great and we look forward to staying again.

Lovely. Definitely recommend this home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the home with two other couples and had a fabulous weekend. The home was clean, comfortable and very well stocked - especially impressed with the welcome bottle of wine and delicious bread. Plenty on and around the property to keep us early risers entertained too while the sleeper-inerers slept in the comfy beds and an easy base for the main attractions of the Blue Mountains. Will definitely recommend this place to others.

Everything was excellent. Clean, quiet, warm and comfortable. Lots of native animal sightings. Plenty of space to chill out in small groups if you choose. Kitchen well stocked and a great BBQ. Owners provide all of the info needed and more if requested. Wood fire is well stocked and ready to go. Outdoor fire is lots of fun, collecting and setting up.Great position for sight seeing. Only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer.
