I grew up in Sydney and then moved to Wagga Wagga for short-term employment of up to 5 years but stayed for 31 years. My wife and I then moved to the South Coast of New South Wales.
Kevin purchased this House in 2007
Why Kevin chose Bodalla
Our family had been searching unsuccessfully for a river-frontage rural property for some time, when our agent informed us that he expected a property to come on the market that would meet our dream. A few months later, we had a phone call stating that he had the property on his books and that we should not delay an inspection. Next day we were on site and purchased then and there. The property also has a special meaning to me as my family holidayed in this area when I was a child and my parents took a photo from the old bridge in 1953 that just happened to include the property in the background. What are the chances!

A very quiet and relaxing time for the family
We had a lovely and relaxing time. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the location was great - a short drive to beaches and interesting towns like Bodalla and Mogo. The kids loved the space and exploring, riding bikes and fishing. The house was clean and well set-up and we appreciated the little touches including chocolates, milk and coffee pods. Thank you!
Pleased to hear that that you all had a good time. We love sharing our retreat with others. Hope to see you again. Kevin and Anne
This is a lovely place to stay. Incredibly quiet. Excellent host.
Great views of the mountains
It was very very relaxing and hot days the house gets some ocean breezes during the day. The verandah is a great platform to watch summer storms roll in and the bird life. It's a great combination of mountains and river scenery with the sounds of cows in the surrounding fields. We found a good fishing spot at Tuross heads and managed to catch some whiting for dinner!
Kevin and Ann were very helpful when we needed a few things - thanks!. The house was clean and the kitchen had all the utensils needed for BBQ and cooking. Pantry storage is plentiful but bring all your pantry basics inc. salt and pepper. Bring your mozzie coils and insect repellent in summer. The ceiling fans keep the house cool as well. The beds were really comfortable + quiet nights = a good deep sleep.
If you need to take a real break then I recommend Valley View. Cheers!
Perfect place for R&R
Lovely countryside dwelling - woken up by bellbirds every morning. Feels secluded yet close enough to all the regional attractions.
We certainly enjoyed our stay.
We have now stayed at the Valley View Retreat in summer and in winter: both experiences in this immaculate, peaceful well-equipped house in its lovely surroundings have been all we could wish for. Hopefully we can stay there again sometime.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We also enjoy the peaceful setting and we would love to welcome you again.
Great place and location
We stayed for two weeks and had a lovely peaceful time. The property is close to a number of forests, national parks, towns and beaches, so there is a lot to keep you busy if you want. The house had everything we needed to feel comfortable and settle in.
INTERESTING THINGS TO SEE
There are many picturesque towns and villages located on the Eurobodalla Coast (all within 50 km). These range from Mogo with its world-class zoo to the north to the heritage villages of Tilba Tilba and Central Tilba to the south. Moruya Heads and Batemans Bay to the north, Potato Point (with a lovely beach protected from south-east winds) and Tuross Heads to the east and Narooma (with its lovely boardwalk) to the south are all within 50 km.
In Tuross Head there is a path which goes right along Tuross Boulevarde near the beaches and continues on around Coila Lake.
The beaches at Potato Point and Mystery Bay are well worth a visit for either surfing or just relaxing.
