Rustic charm and big enough for the whole crew
My friends and I had a great time at Tasma House. We used all the rooms and bungelos as there was a total of 16 of us. The house has two living areas with the kitchen/ back room being bif enough to entertain and fit all of us. We spent almost all our meals at the house and the only thing we missed were a whisk and a potato masher! The kitchen has plenty of serving dishes for big groups and enough mugs and plates! (BYO wine glasses). There is also two kitchens with two full size fridges.
The gardens are amazing and we all thought it was a very tranquil and secluded feeling setting.
The hosts were also very good, we had an issue with the hot water system and it was replaced on a friday night (I was very impresses with this because none of us thought that would happen). They were really helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stay.
The house is very interesting to explore and we were all surprised by how warm the house was. We aren't from this part of Australia and all thought we would be very cold but inside the house for the age of the hosue it was very very warm. The smaller bungalos are the coldest bedrooms as there is a bit of a draft out there.
I would recommened this house for family or friends who are wishing to gather and enjoy each others company and enjoy the local produce in the big kitchen!
A wonderful winter Break
We had a wonderful winter long weekend at Tasma House The house is quirky but there was plenty of room for our noisy extended family. It was warm, cosy and very clean. We loved the back kitchen family room and it was a perfect place for family time.... got the kids away from the ipads and into playing silly games, having a talent show (the sliding doors to the music room made for a perfect stage!) and a round of Monopoly. Our plans for a dinner out in town were shelved as it was very busy, and, with such a well appointed kitchen we stocked up on beautiful fresh vege's from the Railway Market and stayed home for roast lamb. It is often hard to find a place to accomodate a large family but Tasma house ticked all our boxes for a family weekend. The trampoline and duck ponds were an added bonus.
My large family of 14 plus 3 babies recently stayed for a weekend
at Tasma House, Daylesford.
We had a wonderful time there.
The huge rustic living room/ kitchen is great for a big group.
The property is cosy, comfy and authentic.
The bed linen is crisp and white.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the garden and the in ground trampoline.
Adrian, our host was delightful.
We look forward to returning in the future.”
Thank you Sally, for bringing your extended family to stay. Your kind comments are very much appreciated.
Ripped off. Dirty.
Tasma House Daylesford. Dirty. Caretaker onsite, not advised. Not as advertised. Mould on shower curtains. Cockroaches in kitchen. Chipped glasses and crockery. Poor lighting. Lots of Trip hazards. No rails. Plenty of other properties in Daylesford to pick from.
The Hirer is entitled to her opinion. All properties will potentially get positive and negative reviews in a forum such as this. As owners, we are excited and motivated by the positive reviews we have received in the past, on this site, in person, and elsewhere. Tasma House is loved, maintained, and cared for, by its owners and staff, and is a cherished historic family home. The Hirer has provided a written detailed list of complaints to the owner, and after discussion and inquiry, the Property Manager has categorically denied all of the issues. We stand by our Property Manager’s eye witness account, and from the evidence she has provided of their enjoyment of the Property for 2 days. The Property manager reported that she attempted to satisfy your issues onsite and immediately, even though there is evidence that the Property was in great condition when this Hirer’s group arrived. My Wife and I, as owners, disagree with the statements made in this review by the Hirer, and appreciate the right of reply. It’s unfair to Tasma House for any Hirers to arrive on the Property, harass, the property manager repeatedly in the first hour, threaten bad Facebook and Stayz reviews, a VCAT appearance, threaten to leave, and then stay two nights enjoying their weekend together, having fun, drinking wine and playing music. It’s also unfair and illogical to demand a full refund after staying on the Property, under threat of bad reviews One of this reviewer’s guests, an adult female family member of the Hirer, publicly noted on Facebook , that guests were urinating in the Gardens. This action both in the deed, and providing the Facebook announcement of the childish and disgusting behaviour, is overtly disrespectful to the Owners, and Tasma House and Gardens. There are 3 bathrooms, as noted on the Property floor plan map. Other Property owners might need to be aware of this Hirer and her litigious attitude and actions, and hopefully not have their reputations damaged by her fabrications. Future guests should be aware that we welcome you to our unique, creative, quirky and clean family home in beautiful Daylesford, and look forward to your group enjoying time spent together.
I have booked the Tasma house for our wedding in January and it was just perfect! The gardens surrounding the main house and the little cottages are absoluetly stunning, perfect to take amazing pictures. The size of the main house is perfect for a small group and very functional when it comes to preparing meals. Its a very comfortable space and each of our guests enjoyed the comfort of their room/cottages. The trampoline was a big favourite for the kids. We had a fantastic time at Tasma House and I strongly recommend this venue for your next familly holliday.
Superb property set amidst stunning gardens
I recently held my 50th birthday party at Tasma House and it was wonderful; the ideal venue. Superb rooms, comfy beds, and really wonderful common areas. We had everything we needed to host a large group, and particularly appreciated the restaurant quality expresso machine, excellent heating and electric blankets on all the beds (it was cold during our late April visit). Grounds so much prettier than in the photos and we loved all the special little nooks to sit in amongst the autumn foliage! Kids of all ages enjoyed the ping-pong table and the trampoline. We 're planning on becoming regulars :)
