Overview

About the property

Live Small in North Bend! This rustic cedar cabin provides a relaxing riverside and garden retreat for a couple, small family, or guys/girls getaway. The Middle Fork Cabin can be your home base for fly fishing, mtn biking, kayaking, hiking, skiing and many other fun adventures.

The Middle Fork Cabin has a sleeping loft and sofa bed. Queen size bed with memory foam topper in the loft and a sofa bed, also with a memory foam topper, that folds flat into a full sized bed. The space is relatively small and best for two to three adults. More guests may be doable in the summer months when able to spread outside (contact the hosts for more details). The loft is accessible by a wooden ladder that requires some skill if navigating after dark. There are two wall heaters in the cabin for primary heat. For additional heat or for feeling cozy in the cabin, there is also a wood stove. Please be aware that the wood burning stove gets hot and the cabin temperature will vary depending on the size of the fire. There is an overhead ceiling fan for regulating temperature.

We recommend bringing a pair of warm slippers for your winter visit, as we request that no shoes be worn in the cabin.

Wi-fi is available, but can be spotty.

A charcoal bbq with briquettes is available for guest use. We ask that guests make sure the coals are out before leaving the property or falling asleep.

About Christa and Scott

We feel so fortunate to live on this special property, purchased in 2012 with the intention to live close to nature. Since that time, we have done our best to make this place our own. Christa is a Fisheries Biologist and Scott is a Restoration Ecologist. Each year we work on new enhancement projects around the property such as installing bird boxes, planting native tree species and removing non-native vegetation. We value natural places, beauty, simplicity, and sustainable living. Our cabin rental is an expression of that ethic.

Why Christa and Scott chose Washington

Only 40 minutes to Seattle and 20 minutes to Snoqualmie Pass, North Bend is the ideal location for your Pacific Northwest getaway. North Bend is close to unlimited recreation opportunities in the Cascade foothills. You will definitely need to visit Snoqualmie Falls and Rattlesnake Lake during your visit.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is made of rough-cut cedar planks with a cedar shake roof. Many of the windows, doors and details have been salvaged to add rustic charm. The cabin is quaint, at just 400 square feet – and is a great place to experience living small!

We’d love to help you find great places to go and fun things to do in the Snoqualmie Valley and beyond. Just ask. Whether you need restaurant recommendations, local recreation suggestions, or whatever, we’ll do our best to assist.

  • You will climb a wooden ladder to access the loft; this may not be possible for all guests. We provide a headlamp beside the bed for descending and ascending at night. The bed takes up most of the loft, though there is some floor space beside the bed. In the winter, a down feather bed will be added for extra warmth. Please let us know ahead of time if you would prefer that we remove this for your stay. The loft is a great place to lie in bed and listen to the river below. Note: For safety's sake, please provide guidance for your kids around/on the loft bed and ladder.

LOVED the Middle Fork Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. The owners did a great job with attention to the details when designing and outfitting the cabin. The little touches they include like the fresh coffe beans, make you feel like you were staying at a friends. The scenery was amazing and the location perfect for exploring. Hope to make it back for another visit!

Fantastic Experience

  • 5 of 5

Christa was friendly and welcoming, and the cabin was great! They did a wonderful job renovating it. We enjoyed the river and local trails and even saw a herd of elk as a result of Christa's advice. I highly recommend this cabin as long as climbing a ladder to the bed loft is not a problem for you.

All about nature

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, and private !!!! It was all about nature. The cabin was clean and stock very well. We would rather stay there instead of a hotel anytime. It was close to everything, shopping ,eateries, and things you would want to do with nature. People talked about it being hot, but with the fans it cooled out quickly and in the middle of the night we had to turn off fans and close windows. Schaefer's
