GREAT location off the beaten path buy fairly easy to find.

  • 5 of 5

Easy to find, small community. Well stocked compared to other rentals I have stayed in. Exactly as advertised, clean and very close to Chattanooga's Look Out Mountain. Owner was very responsive even at a late hour. Would recommend.

Spacious rental

  • 5 of 5

The cabin at first glance would seem to be rustic, but once inside it had the feel of a much newer home. It has a master bedroom room with large master bathroom on first level off from the living room. Two their bedrooms upstairs that were clean and had more than enough space to accommodate the 4 adults and 3 children that were staying here. The cabin was fully stocked with the modern convince and much ifwhat I had brought with me I did not need because it was provided. The owner when called fully answered any and all questions I had in a friendly and courteous manner. It was only 20 minutes from Chattanooga and there is a grocery story, dollar general and and farm that sells Amish jams. We will definitely be back.

Interesting to say the least.

  • 2 of 5

The overall experience was interesting to say the least. Location was perfect. Secluded, no noise, friendly ducks and peaceful. However it may have been located on 20 acres but that is with multiple other houses. The first day of a 3 day stay was spent repelling a pungent odor from the house. It smelled as if the septic had backed up mixed with heat from the day. Carpets were stained along with the couch. The sinks had a form of tape holding them together. Multiple roaches were killed along with other bugs that bombarded the cabin. The deck is falling apart and the walls had multiple holes and scratches. The bright side, there was WiFi... but the signal could not even allow one cell phone to access emails, let alone the Internet. I had also notified the owner about the smell, her quote was " I was there Friday and didn't notice an odor." Needless to say I will not stay again and warn others about the quality.

Nice accommodations

  • 4 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and roomy. The only major problem was that the house is NOT easily accessible. I had my parents with me and they had a hard time getting in the house. The driveway goes around to the side of the house to the lower level. You have to walk up a flight of basement stairs or walk up a hill to the front of the house and then up the steps to the front porch. I parked at the front door in the yard so they would only have to climb the steps to the front porch. We were told after the first day that we could not park in the front. Instead, we had to walk them out the front and across a ditch to get in our cars.

We love to go to www.nps.gov/chch If you know of relatives that fought in the Civil war you can take their name to the folks at the front desk and they can look it up, tell you where the makers are where they fought and you can follow those markers and when you read the markers you can look over the land and see where they fought.

Here are some places you all might like to go too!

http://www.gastateparks.org/CloudlandCanyon is about 15 miles from us. Great hiking and there are picnic tables and playground.

http://www.friendsofscsra.org/aboutthepark.htm Here are links to other places we like to go to. if you like to see go hiking. see Water falls and there is a Natural Bridge on Mount Eagle too!

As you can tell we are the type that like to explore and hike.

But here are things to do in Chattanooga too.

http://www.tennesseeaquarium.org/Home.aspx?gclid=CPHq4YCEwa4CFUll7AodnR_6Qw If you decide to go here plan on at lease most of the day, the kids can even pet some of the fish. We go at least once a year, and never get tired of it.

you might want to do this the same day! This is some where I want to take the grand kids.

We have had several birthday party's here, and you can walk across the Market street Bridge from the Aquarium to the park and ride the carrousel and let the kids play in the fountains.

We have not been here yet but are real anxious to go.

We took our grand kids here and they just loved being able to ride a train.

Just a side note. There is a little Pizza/Ice cream place right across from the incline, that is priced great. Gary & I will go there and have pizza and a banana Split. We will share the Banana Split and still not be able to eat it all.
