About the property

Neates Den is a spacious, comfortable, three-bedroom holiday home in Blackheath which has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Blue Mountains.

The house is ideal for families or a group of friends with ample space for entertaining and is pet-friendly. A spacious, modern, well-equipped kitchen and large dining area leads out onto an expansive deck with a rustic outdoor setting, gas barbeque and a pet-friendly, secure garden.

The house is situated close to a golf course and within easy reach of Evans Lookout, which overlooks the heritage-listed Grose Valley, which offers supreme bushwalking opportunities.

Neates Den can comfortably accommodate up to six people, with two queen rooms and one double/single bunk room. In winter you'll love the convenience of gas central heating for warm and cosy nights. The house has one bathroom plus one separate toilet/laundry.

The cliff-top walk to Govetts Leap, Bridal Veil Falls, the Grand Canyon Walk and Neates Glen rainforest are all accessible on foot, while the town centre with its cafes, restaurants and antique shops is a short 2.5km drive.

Pillow, blankets and donas are provided. We ask guests to take their own linen and towels. All three bedrooms have cupboard space to hang clothes.

Neates Den is ideal for children and pets with a spacious, secure garden. The fully-equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with freezer. The cupboards are well stocked with all you need for self-catering.

The bathroom has a bath and shower with instant hot water, while a second bathroom with toilet and laundry facilities will ensure a comfortable stay in the Blue Mountains.

We have digital television with excellent reception, plus DVD and hifi for entertainment. You'll also find maps and information on local attractions.

Blackheath offers fantastic bushwalking for all levels. Walk the scenic clifftop track to take in Evans Lookout, Bridal Veil Falls and Govetts Leap. Take a gentle stroll along the Braeside Track or Neates Glen walk, or try something more adventurous like the stunning Grand Canyon track or head down to the Blue Gum forest.

Neates Den is situated close to a golf course. For the more adventurous rock climbing is a popular activity in the Blackheath area and there are also some great mountain biking tracks, if two wheels is your thing.

Blackheath village has a range of coffee shops and restaurants and some lovely antique shops. And of course don't miss the town's famous Rhododendron gardens in spring. From Blackheath it's easy to reach the Megalong Valley, ZigZag Railway and the Jenolan Caves.

*** Please note: The mid-week rate of $160 or $180 per night is for a minimum of 3 nights.

*** Please note: From April to October here is a heating tariff of $40 per stay.

Lovely stay

  • 4 of 5

We were in the mountains for a conference and Neates Den was the perfect accommodation for our family of 5 and dog. Everything as advertised. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed eating outside on the deck.

Nice & Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers and our German Shepherd Dog felt very comfortable at Neates Den. We stayed 2 nights over a weekend in July. The house was spacious enough for us and the central heating warmed us fast and kept us that way during the cold winter nights. Our dog enjoyed the large and secure back yard and the Cockatoos and Magpies (or were they Currawongs?) atop the backyard trees no doubt kept him entertained whilst we went on our day trip to Jenolan Caves. Thank you and we will definitely look to stay at Neates Den again on our next visit to beautiful Blackheath.

Easter stay

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Quiet street. Central to everything. Great secure yard for our 2 dogs. Unfortunately grass was long. Maybe need to update some of the kitchen pots and pans. Central heating worked a treat.

Ideal weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

We booked last minute for 3 nights and Rachael was so helpful with the booking process. The 'den' was ideal for us as a couple, very comfortable, central heating quick to warm up the whole house for an unexpected spring overnight low of zero! And our dog Saxon loved the big back yard, very secure for him to roam and explore. Quiet street for a good night sleep after some wonderful bushwalking literally just down the street.

Perfect for the grandchildren and our dog!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Neates Den was enjoyed greatly by our two grandchildren and the dog who roamed the secure back garden very happily. The layout of the house worked well for us and having an lavatory in the laundry was good. The area was quiet and very pretty - spring (but we had wet weather). Nevertheless the house was cosy, with everything we needed for a most enjoyable stay at Blackheath. The kitchen was well provided with equipment and gas cooking is a joy.
