About the property

A two storey house in an exceptional location on the side of Mount Clarence in central Albany with panaramic views of the harbour and the marina.

If you are a couple everything you need is upstairs and you can enjoy the wonderful view and the action on the harbour from the lounge and master bedroom.

It is also suitable for a family as there are two other bedrooms and a second bathroom and toilet on the ground floor.

Burgoyne House is an ideal place to unwind and relax. The house is spacious, full of character and very comfortable.

For visitors to Albany it is in a great location.

It is a ten minute walk to town and its numerous cafes, shops and restaurants, and the award winning Farmers Markets.

The beautiful Middleton beach is a five minute drive away. Or if you are feeling energetic, you can walk there via the boardwalk. The superb coffee and food at Bay Merchants cafe makes it worth the effort.

Mt Clarence National Park is about 100 metres up the hill behind the house, with numerous bush walking trails and stunning views from the top. Lawley Park on the street below has tennis courts for hire and a playground for children.

The harbour is always a wonderful sight with yachts, tug boats, fishing boats. The visiting cruise ships anchor at the Port just in front. Sometimes there are even whales.

Great House.

Girls trip.. 5 night stay. Lovely old house. Beautiful views. Close to town. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay here. Although the steps were a little challenging at times. :)

Pam is a great host with lots of local knowledge.

Amazing view and the location

We had a perfect holiday. Beautiful property, clean with all the amenities required for a family holiday. Amazing views from the balcony, close proximity to market and restaurants. Pam, was wonderful and very helpful in providing information. Definitely coming back for another holiday

Best for spaciousness and views.

Fourth visit to Burgoyne House. Great big kitchen. Three eating areas. Clean. Fab views. It doesn't matter at all that the house is on the market. More than half of the Stayz properties are. The owner gets full marks for co-operation. We love it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burgoyne House. It is a character house with lots of charm. The views from the balcony over the harbour were amazing. All the beds were comfortable and the house was well equipped. Our host was welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed. An excellent location for exploring Albany. Great that it was walking distance from town and the waterfront. We would recommend Burgoyne house to families due to its spaciousness and the fact that it had two bathrooms.

We were very disappointed with Burgoyne House. We had not been warned that the property was For Sale and that there was a Home Open booked for the morning we were to check out!

The property smelt strongly of damp, the downstairs double bed was in fact very damp and the upstairs double bed was infested with ants. The kitchen was greasy and the house generally dirty, all the furniture was really old and due for the tip and both the bathrooms were seriously in need of renovation. I know we did not have the warmest of weather for our stay but the property was very cold , the gas fires making the house smell of gas.

The only good thing about such disappointing accommodation.....we didn't want to be there for longer than absolutely necessary so we got out and saw all the fantastic things that there are to see and do in Albany.

Owner's Response: This review appears based on the guest’s unwarranted annoyance at not having been told the property is for sale and that there was a “home open” on the day of their departure. I was very careful to ensure the home open was well beyond the time for vacating the house (i.e. 10.00am). The agent arrived at 10.55 to commence the “home open” at 11.00am, and the guests had left. I cleaned the house only a short time before the guests occupied it, and it was very clean; and there were no ants or damp smell. The other views about furniture etc. are the guests’ perceptions and are contrary to all other reviews since I began short stay rentals some 5 years ago. We have numerous photos on the Stayz website and we have taken care to present the house honestly as I do not want guests to be misled in any way. All equipment and furniture is in excellent working condition.
