Dolphin Lookout has prime position perched above the village of Binalong Bay, with sweeping views along the famous Bay of Fires coast to Eddystone lighthouse. Surrounded by native bushes and birds, the view from all angles is simply stunning. All comforts are provided, from CD/iPod/MP3 stereo, DVD, microwave, quality coffee machine, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful hand-crafted oak dining table, designer chairs, and quality commercially laundered linen. With three bedrooms, you can fit up to three couples comfortably, or alternatively, enjoy a cozy, luxury stay for one couple. You could sit here all day admiring the lookout and watching for dolphins, or take off for many walks and adventures in the local area. FREE HI SPEED WIFI NOW AVAILABLE.
We have made some recent renovations to make Dolphin Lookout even better. The master bedroom now has its own tiled ensuite bathroom. There has been a large modern main bathroom built, so the property now boasts two bathrooms. Not only that but all three bedrooms have been recarpeted, and two are fitted with brand new beds, and bedside tables. The third bedroom has been enlarged.
We have just fitted a modern full size fridge freezer - and there is a small freezer also available. A nice extractor fan is a new addition to the kitchen as well. Just to make things even more comfortable.
Best of all - we have enlarged the deck - with comfortable outside quality furniture for your enjoyment. From the deck you have wonderful panoramic views right from Grants Lagoon, Binalong Bay Beach, as well as the whole of the Bay of Fires - right up to Eddystone lighthouse. With native plants growing right up to the deck, the birdlife is amazing. And it is all very private and exclusive to you.
Dolphin cottage sits just above the white sand beaches and red rocks of Binalong Bay. Combining a sense of remoteness with access to nearby amenities in St Helens, with its supermarkets, charming bric a brac and antique shops, and the best fresh fish on the East coast. Further afield are Pyangana cheese factory next to the famous Pub in the Paddock, impressive waterfalls in lush rainforests, the historical tin mining site with world class mountain bike trails, the Eddystone Point lighthouse, the spectacular 'Gardens' - rocky outcrops of the Bay of Fires - and a myriad of beaches, inlets and lagoons to explore.
You can even walk down to the nearby "Gulch" and take a boat ride with Bay of Fires Eco Tours, which will have you looking at dolphins, whales in season, and seals, as well as the famous isolated Bay of Fires - best seen in its entirety from the water. Or walk to Lichen Restaurant, less than 50 meters down the hill and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner - or even takeaway pizza or fish and chips - to enjoy back on the deck.

Lovely house with everything you could desire and a beautiful view.
Lovely house with everything you could desire and a beautiful view. The owner went above and beyond.
We loved our night at Dolphin Lookout cottage and only wish we could have stayed longer. Next time. we enjoyed a bbq on the deck with it's beautiful views and had all the comforts of home that we could possibly need. We would highly recommend this accommodation. The best of our trip to Tassie.
Dolphin Lookout is a super spot. The brand new WeberQ and comfy outdoor furniture is all you need for a pleasant day at the Bay of Fires. I do hope you book for longer next time.
It took our breath away upon stepping into the house. It has everything we need for a Tassie holiday. Did not bother to spend too much time outside the house, simply just want to spend more time in the house.
That's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed Dolphin Lookout so much you were happy to just stay in and look out! We would love to have you come back again next time you are in Tassie. Our beach really is amazing - so I'd suggest venturing out down the short 50 meter walk to it!
Loved Dolphin Lookout.
It couldn't get better than this.......a view to die for, comfy beds, well appointed.......just a general feeling of peace and tranquilty. Jan was the perfect host......very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.
The views are super aren't they! I think it feels really peaceful on the deck because of the natural almost bush-like surroundings, with the panoramic views up along the Bay of Fires beyond, the sound of the ocean, and the amazing bird life all around you. See you next time!
Fabulous location, facilities and view
With our 13 month old catered for we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Cot and high chair were provided and the house and deck were child proof.
Glad you enjoyed your time at Dolphin Lookout. Since the renovation guests are so happy with the fantastic deck. Such a great place to relax.
This was by far the best place we have ever stayed in. The views from the balcony were breathtaking, just magic, loved it, never wanted to leave.
The place itself was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Jan was very helpful with directions and tips on what to expect with regards mobile coverage on the east coast. All in all we had a magic stay.
So glad you enjoyed your time at Dolphin Lookout. The new deck is certainly proving popular, such a relaxing spot. Mobile coverage is really just Telstra, but Optus can be picked up about 5 minutes away. However with free hi speed WIFI at the house you don't have to worry!
