Great family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We live outside of Seattle and were looking for a getaway for myself, my wife, and two boys, 10 & 12. It was important to have the space to let them run and play and get their energy out, and quiet enough to allow us to enjoy ourselves with a little down time. The cabin really fulfilled all that.

Heather has done a great job of making sure all the little things are thought of. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for the boys. The upstairs bedroom, though a loft, still afforded privacy and comfort enough for us and really had a LOT of space. The hot tub was a great end of day relaxer. The river supplied plenty of entertainment as we floated, swam, caught crayfish, fished (very tiny fish but good entertainment for the boys. For those seeking to seriously fish, clam, etc., the area is filled with options). The river is shallow and slow moving so there was no concern for safety with the boys playing in there. The sauna is really a nice, private get away. We did not make use of it as it was so hot while we were there, but in testing everything out, it seemed to work great. There is also a shed full of outdoor equipment that kept everyone entertained. There is not a lot to do with kids locally outside of hiking or on the water, but we took a day trip to Long Beach which is less than an hour's drive and has a HUGE sandy shoreline if you want to spend the day at the beach, and a boardwalk-like main street with arcades, go-carts, etc if you want to spend the day playing.

Overall, there is as much to do, or as little, as you see fit. We stayed for four nights and it felt like a perfect amount of time. Heather is quick to respond and available if needed but we were truly given our privacy and check in and out was seamless. No one interrupted us once while we were there. It is a really great getaway for a family with kids, but equally a nice romantic getaway for a couple that needs some downtime (the restaurant choices are limited but the cabin has everything needed to cook meals in).

We would stay here again simply for how friendly and easy Heather made everything and how much fun we had.

Beautiful log cabin. Plenty of space. We had fun playing in the river and canoeing. Very relaxing.

We had a great time there. We came from Colorado, and were originally planning on staying in Seattle, but when i found this place i was really impressed. So we changed our vacation plans. I have no regrets about that. It was everything that it said it would be. The sauna, hot tub, river, log cabin, it was great! I would totally recommend it.

Rustic and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Nice and quiet. The cabin had everything we needed. Heather checked in and was very nice. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking. We enjoyed making smores st the fire pit area. The cabin was far enough from town to feel isolated, but close enough to run to the store.

The hummingbirds flying around the hanging baskets were awesome! My favorite part of our stay! We really enjoyed ourselves!

Relaxing cabin

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, quiet location with lots of options. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, but the sauna wouldn't heat enough to use. You should be aware that if you're planning to come with your family, the master bedroom is an open loft. There is one bedroom downstairs with a door. We had a wonderful time despite the few inconveniences.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your nice comments! I am so sorry the sauna wasn’t working correctly! We thought it was fixed and was a breaker problem, it turns out we need a new stove. It has been ordered and should be here on June 1st.

Absolutely perfect! Heather was quick to provide fire wood and already had the cabin (which is sooo adorable) prepped with smores equipment. The hot tub and sauna are well-maintained and wonderful! Will absolutely recommend to others!
