About Rae Dart

We have lived on our farm in the Kiewa valley for the past 21 years, the first 12 we lived in Tawonga and original came from Nhill in the Wimmera on the other side of the state.

its only a short drive to Mount Beauty so we feel we have the best of both worlds

We love the mountains and the climate here, it is a photographers dream.

We have seen most of Australia but think we have the pick of it.

We have a grown up family and love having our grand children to come and visit

Why Rae Dart chose Coral Bank

Our property is a place to get away from it all, it is quite and peaceful with a lovely garden and birdlife, without being too far from all the popular places

The views are great either winter with snow capped mountains or the any time of the year with the changing seasons and lush valley.

The Kiewa river is only minutes away which is very popular with trout and cod fishing and of course swimming and tubing.

We are close to Mount Beauty 15km and Falls Creek about 45 min drive

Being in the valley we are that much closer to historic Beechworth Yackandandah and Chilton, and larger shopping centres, Wodonga and Albury

Ceccanti and Benjella winery are just down the road.

There are many other wineries close by too

Bright is also only a 40 drive through very scenic country.

What makes this guest house unique

No neighbours, serenity, plenty of room with parking, garden for children to run free in,

Large house two bathrooms

Beautiful views all around

Great location

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wish we had more time here cause there are heaps of interesting places to check out around the area. Clean house with all the essentials. Loved the welcome fruits and flowers too.

Don't expect too much so you won't be disappointed

  • 1 of 5

We did not enjoy this property, it was not quite as we had expected, mostly due to its age - we booked it for a week and left after 1 night (part refund suggested but never happened, but probably because I took too long to follow up on it). The property is very dated, has small electric heaters in bedrooms (but still cold) and situated right on the main road to Tawonga South underneath a telstra tower (decommissioned apparently). It is a fair drive from Falls Creek and Mount Beauty if you plan to go daily. As an older house it was as clean and tidy as could be expected given its age, but still felt not great (not for lack of trying but due to age of property, old bathrooms, kitchen, carpets etc). A lovely outlook over the mountains and garden, and no complaints about the host who made regular contact, had the fire lit, and was in regular contact. I think this property would be fine for a family looking for a value option, so long as you are not expecting too much. We thought 2* at best.

Owner's Response: Kate and her family arrived late one evening in July, the fire was going and the house cosy, the lights on to welcome, they left first thing next morning. there is a wood heater that heats the house a split system, electric blankets, doonas and heaters in all the bedrooms This is the first out of 55 reviews that has been negative, you get what you see in the pictures and description it is all accurate and up to date. It isn't a Falls Creek five star accommodation, nor is the price, people are very happy as one can see by the other 54 reviews and often return, I guess that says it all. very sorry for Kate and her family that she hadn't checked it out well before booking
