I graduated from Gonzaga University with a business major and a minor in accounting. Go ZAGS!!
My wife and I love to experience different foods and cultures by traveling domestically & internationally.
First, my wife and I got married in 1993 and we decided to buy our dream home somewhere on the Oregon Coast. We traveled from north to south, Astoria to Brookings, exploring the Oregon Coast. So, we bought ourselves an acre lot on Sunset Lake where we dreamed someday we would retire and go fishing on our own private lake.
Secondly, we built the house in 2003 and kept visiting periodically until our kids got older and our lives got busy. Therefore, we decided in 2010 to open our house to other families and let them get the full experience of the gorgeous Oregon coast.
Lastly, we hope you will enjoy our vacation home and come back to visit often and tell your friends and family.
The Owner purchased this house in 2003
My wife and I visited the Oregon Coast, from Newport to Astoria, and fell in love with Gearhart and the Surf Pines gated community.
We receive a lot of bookings since many of our guests have allergies and they can not stay at pet friendly homes. So, if you have pets and want to bring them with you, or friends that are have pets and want to visit you, this is not the right home and we apologize in advance.
If your family enjoys deep sea fishing the City of Warrenton has charter fishing boats depending on the season and can take your party out fishing. My son and I went for Sturgeon fishing and each of us got a Sturgeon about 5 feet long. There are two golf courses within a mile from the house. There is a 18 hole Golf Course at Gearhart Golf Course and 9 hole Golf at The Highlands Golf Course.
We are only 4 miles away from Seaside where you can spend your time shopping, playing miniature golf, bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl, and lets not forget the outlet malls. Also, the city of Astoria is only 5 miles north of us and you must see the famous Astoria Column. You can also visit where the famous movies Kindergarten Cop and The Goonies were filmed.
We call it, "The Ultimate Beach Vacation Home" and there is a reason for that!
A private gated community with one acre parcel and it’s right on the lake. We have a 5 passenger paddle boat, 17 foot aluminum canoe, and a 12 foot fishing boat. A vacation can’t get any better that that and did I mention for those who want to stay at the house, there is a Swedish Sauna, a professional pool table, PlayStation ll (with games), Wii console (with games), Volleyball & Bocce ball court, Foosball table, ping pong and the amenities go on and on……
There is a Costco, Starbucks, Local Restuarants, Fred Myer, Subway, and Taco Bell about a mile away, or if you're a fisherman you can catch your dinner right off the lake.
Wow we saw so many deer and elk. The lake was lots of fun and I love the ocean, this place is nothing like Peugent Sound. Love, Jack from Seattle.
Had a lot of fun on the lake using the canoe and the dock. Ben
You have a beautiful place here, the best of 2 worlds, we paddleed the canoe all of the way to the bridge and back. Wish we had had a little more sunshine! Thank you, Deanne
Had fun playing on the dock and riding down the beach. This is perfect playing house. Thanks for letting us stay. Alex B.
I like the pool and ping pong. Everything about the lake & I like my bed.
P.S. me and my aunt went canoeing to the bridge. Annie B.
Thank you so much for allowing us to rent this house. I loved the location on the lake and how it was a bike ride away from the beach. i loved the floating dock! It was so much fun to jump off of. i loved being able to take the canoe out and tour the lake. The house was well equiped with everything to make this vacation great. The pool table was great for small games. The ping pong table was perfect for a family ping pong tournament!(which I won). Again thank you so much for allowing us to rent this house. Danielle B.
We brought our grandson here for his 13th birthday with two of his friends. We all had a really wonderful time. There's so many amenities for the kids, they were never bored. Didn't catch enough fish, but they had so much fun in the boats that it didn't seem to matter too much. House is very clean and well organized. Owner very accommodating and easy to deal with. Can't say enough good things about this place!
The house was great and had everything we needed. Great location and great for a vacation. House was perfect.
This house is great! It's so nice to return to after exploring the area and fishing. All furnishings and amenities are in good shape. Really need the extra freezer in the garage for our Salmon, although we didn't catch too many this year. Love all the extras: pool table, table tennis, boats, outside deck and firepit. The house was clean on arrival; no complaints. The landlord/agent is very responsive to questions leading up to the rental time. Now that I remembered my VRBO password, the process is very efficient.
Bottom line: we'll be back. This has to be one of the best Northern Oregon rentals not directly on the beach.
This is our third year coming to this amazing house, and we love it more each year! I really appreciate how clean it is. It's perfect for a large family, our grandkids are 5-11 years old and they can safely be outside playing on their own for hours! Mo is wonderful in providing everything needed, and things you didn't even know you needed, like a pool table, ping pong, lots of games, books and CD's, boats, fishing gear. Last year we needed a refrigerator repair and it was fixed in no time. This year there's a new refrigerator, and the old one is in the garage, which is incredibly helpful for a large family! Mo also checks in during your stay, and once I mentioned we could use a fan and the same day two were delivered!
The location of the house is perfect, close to Seaside and Cannon Beach, The Wayfarer Restaurant in Cannon Beach is my favorite, along with the little cafe in Gearhart.
If you're thinking of a vacation rental for your family this is the place you want to stay!!
We had a wonderful time staying in Gearhart in this nice home. We had plenty of space and a place for everyone to sleep. We asked Mo if he had a pack n play for our grandson and since he didn't have one he went out and bought one! He was easy to ask any questions to and eager to help make our stay enjoyable. We all loved the lake, boats and kayaks. Plus our group had a lot of fun playing pool, football and ping pong. As long as our group doesn't get any bigger we will definitely stay here again!
This house provided lots of space for our family of 11 and various forms of entertainment for our teens. Our favorite part was the wildlife we saw every day, deer, fawns, otter and elk in the front and back yard. Also doing smores in the fire pit was cool for the kids.
