About The Owner

I graduated from Gonzaga University with a business major and a minor in accounting. Go ZAGS!!

My wife and I love to experience different foods and cultures by traveling domestically & internationally.

First, my wife and I got married in 1993 and we decided to buy our dream home somewhere on the Oregon Coast. We traveled from north to south, Astoria to Brookings, exploring the Oregon Coast. So, we bought ourselves an acre lot on Sunset Lake where we dreamed someday we would retire and go fishing on our own private lake.

Secondly, we built the house in 2003 and kept visiting periodically until our kids got older and our lives got busy. Therefore, we decided in 2010 to open our house to other families and let them get the full experience of the gorgeous Oregon coast.

Lastly, we hope you will enjoy our vacation home and come back to visit often and tell your friends and family.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Oregon

My wife and I visited the Oregon Coast, from Newport to Astoria, and fell in love with Gearhart and the Surf Pines gated community.

We receive a lot of bookings since many of our guests have allergies and they can not stay at pet friendly homes. So, if you have pets and want to bring them with you, or friends that are have pets and want to visit you, this is not the right home and we apologize in advance.

If your family enjoys deep sea fishing the City of Warrenton has charter fishing boats depending on the season and can take your party out fishing. My son and I went for Sturgeon fishing and each of us got a Sturgeon about 5 feet long. There are two golf courses within a mile from the house. There is a 18 hole Golf Course at Gearhart Golf Course and 9 hole Golf at The Highlands Golf Course.

We are only 4 miles away from Seaside where you can spend your time shopping, playing miniature golf, bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl, and lets not forget the outlet malls. Also, the city of Astoria is only 5 miles north of us and you must see the famous Astoria Column. You can also visit where the famous movies Kindergarten Cop and The Goonies were filmed.

What makes this house unique

We call it, "The Ultimate Beach Vacation Home" and there is a reason for that!

A private gated community with one acre parcel and it’s right on the lake. We have a 5 passenger paddle boat, 17 foot aluminum canoe, and a 12 foot fishing boat. A vacation can’t get any better that that and did I mention for those who want to stay at the house, there is a Swedish Sauna, a professional pool table, PlayStation ll (with games), Wii console (with games), Volleyball & Bocce ball court, Foosball table, ping pong and the amenities go on and on……

There is a Costco, Starbucks, Local Restuarants, Fred Myer, Subway, and Taco Bell about a mile away, or if you're a fisherman you can catch your dinner right off the lake.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Wow we saw so many deer and elk. The lake was lots of fun and I love the ocean, this place is nothing like Peugent Sound. Love, Jack from Seattle.

Had a lot of fun on the lake using the canoe and the dock. Ben

You have a beautiful place here, the best of 2 worlds, we paddleed the canoe all of the way to the bridge and back. Wish we had had a little more sunshine! Thank you, Deanne

Had fun playing on the dock and riding down the beach. This is perfect playing house. Thanks for letting us stay. Alex B.

I like the pool and ping pong. Everything about the lake & I like my bed.

P.S. me and my aunt went canoeing to the bridge. Annie B.

Thank you so much for allowing us to rent this house. I loved the location on the lake and how it was a bike ride away from the beach. i loved the floating dock! It was so much fun to jump off of. i loved being able to take the canoe out and tour the lake. The house was well equiped with everything to make this vacation great. The pool table was great for small games. The ping pong table was perfect for a family ping pong tournament!(which I won). Again thank you so much for allowing us to rent this house. Danielle B.

We loved it! Wonderful home with lots to do!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying in Gearhart in this nice home. We had plenty of space and a place for everyone to sleep. We asked Mo if he had a pack n play for our grandson and since he didn't have one he went out and bought one! He was easy to ask any questions to and eager to help make our stay enjoyable. We all loved the lake, boats and kayaks. Plus our group had a lot of fun playing pool, football and ping pong. As long as our group doesn't get any bigger we will definitely stay here again!

Excellent house for our family gathering.

  • 4 of 5

This house provided lots of space for our family of 11 and various forms of entertainment for our teens. Our favorite part was the wildlife we saw every day, deer, fawns, otter and elk in the front and back yard. Also doing smores in the fire pit was cool for the kids.

Exceptional vacation home for a three generation family!!

  • 5 of 5

We'll be returning to this house for the third year in a row! We've been renting vacation houses for our family for the last 10 years. The amenities, location to beach and numerous activities, not to mention the house itself is, by far, the best house out there for the money! Right after check-out my grandkids are asking me "when are we coming back?" In addition, Mo is wonderful to work with, always checking in to see how things are going and if there's anything we need. If a repair is needed it's done quickly. We ALL absolutely love vacationing here, thanks Mo!

my private get away from it all.

I have stayed here two times and plan on staying as many times in the future as my wallet allows. It is the perfect home location to the beach or local attractions. If you ever need anything Moe is awesome at making sure it gets taken care of; in a timely manner. I consider this my home on the beach. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with me.

Great place to stay with family, friends & Kids !!!

  • 5 of 5

We visited this place for Christmas weekend with family & friends. 13 people ( 11 Adults + 2 Kids) slept happily without any problems. It is a beautiful piece of property in a very nice, gated community. All the bedrooms have separate TVs, games, nice beds, etc. and are very comfortable. The location is wonderful too, as it has everything! There are also many other activities all around the house, boating, fishing, volleyball, horseshoes, foosball etc.

However, we found the place a little dirty; dirty dishes, etc.

We had an awesome time at this vacation getaway. There was 11 of us & we still had room for 3 more people. Very spacious home. The Owner was very pleasant & always available. We had a great time the 3 days we were there. We will def. be going back in summer:)

Location, location, location and quiet.

  • 5 of 5

Close to all the adventure our great Northern Oregon coast can offer. Nice fairly secluded beach access near by. Wild life every day; beaver, elk, deer, ducks, squirrels, raccoon and even a cute rabbit. Lots of games in and out side the house. Very comfortable with a large kitchen and plenty of room for all. Private and quiet area. My family had a good time just hanging out.

I would like to suggest a deck rail for safety.
