Relaxing Mountain House, Gorgeous Views, Close to Outdoor Fun

Bedrooms 4
Space 1,800 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Our High Valley House is a wonderful place that has been our family home for the last 14 years. Love at first site is what made us buy it and will make you glad that you are here. Sit in the porch swing or hammock and take in the miles-long view, or enjoy it through the huge windows that surround the house. Better yet, join up around the fire-pit or soak in the hot tub. Easy access to a 4-lane Highway, but very secluded. Close to the NOC, whitewater, Tsali mountain biking, Appalachian Trail, Lake Fontana, Tail of the Dragon for motorcycles, Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Cherokee Casino.

The house layout works great for separating the guests. The master bedroom is on the main level with a Queen bed and the jetted tub with windows to the world. Downstairs, there is the King bedroom, the Double bedroom, and a Kids room with a dual twin bed trundle. There is also a separate full bathroom and laundry downstairs. Outside exits from both ends of the downstairs give you easy access to the yard and hot tub. You can relax upstairs and put the kids and in-laws downstairs, or switch. Everyone can re-group on the main level with the open kitchen that is great for visiting and enjoying the views out the over-size windows.

If you are in the area to ride your motorcycle on the amazing mountain roads, this house will make a great central base for exploring. There is a huge covered area under the front deck that you can ride into and out of. There is only a short stretch of level gravel road coming into the neighborhood, otherwise all pavement access including the driveway.

Cyclists will appreciate the covered bike wash area to work on and leave their bikes

Fisherman will enjoy the easy access to the Nantahala and Little Tennessee Rivers and Lake Fontana.

There are great quiet walks right from the house and folks with a little adventure can even hike all the way down to the Nature Conservancy tracts of the Needmore Tract on the Little Tennessee River.

All this, yet the house is very easy to access and is only 15 minutes from Bryson City.

We very much enjoyed our stay at your beautiful mountain home. It was a great place to relax and catch up with our grown children. And you can't beat that awesome view from the porch!

Amazing views home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house! Very comfortable for three families 6 adults and 4 children. The house is well stocked with everything you need to feel at home. The views are amazing and we were close to the Polar Express and to the Casino. We will be back!

This is the second time we stayed here. The house is beautiful and comfortable. Can't take our eyes off the mountain. We saw the moon rise this time, it was amazing.

A Very Private Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in this house. It was private, but not isolated from civilization. Rustic (but not overly so), clean, well furnished - and convenient to the Appalachian Trail. We had only two minor housekeeping issues, and as advertised, the owner responded quickly and effectively to correct them. Duke Power was clearing vegetation from the power lines and blocking access roads most of the week but they were quick to move equipment when asked so that we could get in and out. A very nice hot tub made the week very enjoyable. Overall, a good value and a very nice house. Nantahala Outdoor Center is very convenient. If you haven't gone whitewater rafting this is a great place for it. Fun drive in on the Tail of the Dragon.
