Columbia Falls Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-6)

A cozy cabin sitting beside a beautiful mountain lake is what you'll find at Serene Lakefront Cabin. Experience the wonder of nature with wildlife all around. Deer, beaver, bear, wolves and otter make their home in this mountain paradise. Hear the call of the loons, the screech of the eagles and the stunning silence of the night. Relax around the campfire or roast some marshmallows as you watch the sunset across the lake. You can row our boat out on the lake to catch some cutthroat trout and there is easy fishing for perch right off the private dock in front of the cabin.

Serene Lakefront cabin is conveniently located 20 minutes from Glacier Park International Airport and 10 minutes from the charming town of Columbia Falls. Only a short drive (20 minutes) to Glacier National Park, our cabin is perfectly situated to allow you to enjoy all the recreational opportunities the area has to offer.

The cabin is located on Spoon Lake, right off the North Fork Road and only a few minutes from the western park boundary. Our location offers convenient access to all the hiking, fishing, rafting and recreational spots along the North Fork of the Flathead River. From your base at Serene Lakefront Cabin you can set out and explore. Hike the national park trails and take in the stunning beauty of Kintla and Bowman Lakes in the less traveled portion of the park. From highway 2, you can reach Apgar Village at the main west entrance to Glacier National Park. From there, drive the spectacular. Going to the Sun road to Logan pass where mountain goats roam free.

Serene Lakefront Cabin is conveniently located close to Columbia Falls. Explore and shop in the quintessential western town of Kalispell, just 25 miles away, and enjoy the charm and culture of Whitefish only 18 miles away. Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, is just 35 miles to the south.

Back at Serene Lakefront Cabin the pace can slow, allowing all your cares to melt away. The peaceful waters of Spoon Lake are a perfect setting with no motorboats or jet skis to disturb the wildlife. We focus on the outdoor experience and our cozy cabin provides the opportunity to come close together as family and friends. You can cook in the easy access kitchen while you watch the activities on the lake. Barbecue on the gas grill or warm yourself and play games in front of the elegant Waterford gas stove after a fine day of hiking, shopping or exploring. Climb the stairs to the cozy bedroom complete with king bed and two twin beds, or open the futon in the living room and sleep right in front of the glowing fire. On warm days let the breeze blow through and smell the mountain air.

Enjoy a discount by booking stay dates before June 15th or after September 15th. These times offer a quieter and slower paced experience by avoiding the crowds of the peak season. In the spring you can catch hungry fish and watch as the wildlife emerges from the long winter. In the fall enjoy the colors of the turning tamarack trees while watching the wildlife prepare for the coming winter. If our calendar is full for the dates you are interested in, ask about the availability of the nearly identical adjacent cabin.

Please note: Our cabin may not be appropriate for those who have difficulties walking on slopes or accessing the stair/ladder. The last 75 feet of the driveway is steep. We recommend you park at the top of this section of the driveway if you do not have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

If our calendar is full for the dates you are interested in, or if you have a larger group that would like two cabins, we recommend you check the availability of the adjacent cabin at VRBO listing #221527 or Homeaway listing 905880.

Guestbook Quotes:

We enjoyed spending the last few days of our honeymoon here. Our only complaint is that the time went too fast! We loved hiking in Glacier, strolling around the town of Whitefish and having fires & S’mores. The lake is so peaceful and it was fun hearing the loons. We also enjoyed using the rowboat. Thanks so much for your hospitality. It was a very special trip and we look forward to returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here on Spoon Lake. We saw and heard the loons each morning – amazing how long they stay under when they dive! Our girls enjoyed fishing form the dock and a few boat rides with dad. As others have mentioned, we were shocked at how well stocked the kitchen is! After two days in GNP, we were disappointed to have seen no wildlife other than birds and chipmunks, but tonight by the campfire a beautiful doe decided to stroll by. We are so happy to have shared this peaceful “Serene Lakefront Cabin” here in Montana.

Excellent week at Spoon Lake. Loved the lake, the loons, ducks, humming birds and bunnies. Enjoyed eating outdoors, lucking out with a week of glorious weather and very few bugs.

Serene Cabin is a jewel! We’ve enjoyed our time in Montana, which was our 1st. Glacier Park far exceeded our expectations and the cabin si a peaceful retreat from hiking all day. Sitting around the fire pit and grilling was great. Loved the black skillet…it works great on the grill for frying bacon or hash browns. The cabin is well stocked and we appreciate that. Rowing the boat around the lake and catching a few fish was fun too. We highly recommend the Red Bus Tour while in the Park. It’s money well spent. Can’t wait to share our pictures and Montana experience with our friends down south. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay here has been amazing. We hope to return next summer. The Kids caught many fish...jigging off the dock (around &:30 seems to be the best time) and swam a ton. We feel very blessed to have experienced the peace and beauty of this cabin on Spoon Lake and have made some great memories.

Sweet, peaceful place.

The cabin was modest but well-appointed, right at the edge of a beautiful lake. We didn't find the driveway or stairs to the bedroom (mentioned in other reviews) to be a problem. It was a very cozy and, we thought, well-loved space. The hosts were every friendly and responsive.

There are other properties at the lake, some with people having gatherings or fishing, many empty, although I imagine that's a crapshoot or seasonal. The location is about a half hour drive from the nearest entrance to glacier national park. It was a lovely stay overall! Just be mindful that quiet is not guaranteed and noise travels easily across the water and canyon.

Idyllic cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in the cabin - it's a cliche but it truly felt like a home from home, it's wonderfully cosy and very well equipped with everything you could want - from cooking equipment, to bbq, to boat and even fishing rods! We swam, boated, fished in the lake, enjoyed the fire pit and bbqs - it was hard to tear ourselves away to go hiking in Glacier! Thanks!

Disappointed

  • 2 of 5

While the location of this cabin was great (a 15 minutes drive from the West Glacier entrance of Glacier National Park), we were not impressed with the accommodations. The worst part is that the bathroom smelled very strongly of mildew and because the cabin was so small, that smell traveled out to the sitting area. The bathroom has obvious water damage and the flooring was bubbling because of the moisture. There is not a full refrigerator either, only a small mini-fridge, which made it difficult to fit all of our groceries for our trip. As other reviews said, the driveway is VERY steep. Luckily we had four wheel drive and could drive down to the cabin. I can't imagine trying to walk our suitcases and groceries down the driveway. The ladder to the bedroom is also very steep. My husband and I are both able bodied and in our 30s, but still had to take a lot of care whenever we went up and down the ladder. It was just the two of us staying in the cabin - I can't imagine cramming 6 people in there. We had a nice time fishing out on the lake in the rowboat that was provided.

Owner's Response: We are sorry the hear that this guest wasn't completely satisfied. We have not had complaints about any bathroom cleanliness issues from previous guests. The description, details, reviews, and pictures clearly show the driveway and ladder stairway. We had our cleaner double check the bathroom and she could not find any mildew. The bubble in the flooring is not from water damage but rather from poor installation and we plan to address that in the future. Our cabin is not be appropriate for those who have difficulties accessing the ladder/stairs. The refrigerator is not full sized, but is adequate to hold enough food for a vacation and we have not had complaints about that in the past. We are glad to hear that this guest found the cabin very convenient to Glacier National Park. Please remember this is a cabin. If you love the outdoors and are looking for a great cabin that is in a beautiful spot then our cabin is what you are looking for.

Great cabin, great location; not enough time!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed everything. Cabin comfortable and had everything we needed. We could drive to Glacier Park easily and enjoyed no crowds at all. Although some of the trails were not fully open due to snow covered hills. Try breakfast or another meal at Two Medicine Grill. You'll eat with the locals and enjoy wonderful home cooked food. We could have easily spent the week just staying at the cabin and all it had to offer and still have had a relaxing vacation. Thanks.

Truly Serene!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this cabin with my sister, brother-in-law and niece and nephew for a week. Initial reaction when we arrived is that the cabin was much smaller than expected but we quickly found that it was the perfect size since we spent most of our time outside by the water, firepit, or on the deck. Fridge is small but we made it work, supplemented with coolers. Great shower, the kitchen was perfectly stocked with dishes, pans, and bowls. The driveway was as steep as others described - would not recommend driving down the hill to unload. Great location too, only 9 miles to Columbia Falls - wend in to laundromat one day and bought an extra fan as it was in the mid-90s when we were there. Cooled off nicely at night. Highly recommend this site, was nice to unwind by the lake after a day of hiking.
