Charming little house with view of the water. We have a large deck off the house and an additional deck over the water with a fish cleaning table and fresh water. Large Dock, rebuilt in 2013, will accommodate 4 boats. Electricity is available on the dock.
You share the dock and utility room with Bob and Lisa, who have a houseboat tied up there.
Utility room has washer and dryer. Unheated storage room below house has room for 2 more sleepers.
Single bath has shower, and separate wash room has 2 basins. Sheets and towels are stocked. One bedroom has king bed, the other a queen.
Remodeled in 2011, the kitchen has propane gas stove, microwave, lots of counter space and is completely furnished. The cupboards are stocked, and all you need to bring are the perishables, your swimsuit and toothbrush.
Boat launch facilities or boat rental at Sugar Barge Marina are nearby, 5 minutes drive.
The house has a pellet stove for heat in the winter and ceiling fans for the summer. It is well insulated. Propane barbeque and large patio table on the deck are available for your use. Parking space is below the house in the front driveway and yard. We have no WiFi or internet access and no telephone, but what the heck. You are on vacation.
Waterskiing or boating: We are 10 minutes to fast water and located next to Emerald Point Marina. Launching is available at Sugar Barge Marina, 5 minutes away. Boat rental is also available there.
We have enjoyed this house as a weekend getaway, then as a vacation home and our kids grew up waterskiing here. Now the grandkids are enjoying it, too. We remodeled and upgraded the house in 2009 and it now has all the comforts we need.
Ron and Cathy Keil purchased this house in 1994
Less than 2 hours from the Bay Area, it was close enough to come for a weekend and far enough away to really relax and forget about work. The neighbors are friendly if you want to walk around and chat or they will leave you alone if you don't want to go out and meet them.
It is a quiet, relaxing place to forget about the stress of work or the rest of your problems. Close to small towns if you want to run in to a movie or a big grocery store and we have small bars, restaurants, and boating facilities close by if you need them. You can walk along the levee and see the unique houses and boats. Overall, it is just a fun place to relax and enjoy.
Our hosts were very good with their description and directions to their home as it is tucked back in near the Emerald Marina. The home was clean and neat and a nice place for us to relax after fishing all day. We were surprised we had so many TV channels since they didn't have cable tv or internet. The home is close to a 4G tower so we had great service through our phones and hotspots so not having internet was not a problem at all. Only issue was no air conditioning and it was a hot weekend, but otherwise I would come back again. Thanks.
We really enjoyed our stay at this Stone drive property. We like to spend time outdoors and the deck was a great place to kick back and barbecue.
We brought our own barbecue but having a barbecue on site was great as we could cook everything at once. There is an island in the kitchen which was very convenient. I actually liked the broadcast TV at this house as I find there are better channels than cable. More old time TV shows and Movies.
We highly recommend this place for a good place to enjoy the delta or just relax
We came in on our boat and tied up to the large dock. The house was beautifully remodeled. Beautiful kitchen, large spacious living room, clean and airy rooms with lots of natural lighting. The deck was a great place to sit and have meals and watch the delta. Nice large BBQ. During the day we explored the delta on our boat. The renters next door were very kind and ready to help whenever we needed something. At the same time we had plenty of privacy. I look forward to coming back to this house.
This is our second time staying at Ron & Cathy's place and we loved every minute of it. The house is always nice and clean. It got everything we needed and more. Lisa & Bob is great as always.
We love fishing off the dock in the evening and enjoying a nice BBQ on the patio. We will definitely stay again.
We took our boat and it could not be a better set up. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. All we brought was food and drinks.
The place is neat n the people are straight forward, kind, friendly n out going. I love this place. It's relaxing n fun. It is really a home away from home. I'll be back for sure. Thanks.
