Charming little house with view of the water. We have a large deck off the house and an additional deck over the water with a fish cleaning table and fresh water. Large Dock, rebuilt in 2013, will accommodate 4 boats. Electricity is available on the dock.
You share the dock and utility room with Bob and Lisa, who have a houseboat tied up there.
Utility room has washer and dryer. Unheated storage room below house has room for 2 more sleepers.
Single bath has shower, and separate wash room has 2 basins. Sheets and towels are stocked. One bedroom has king bed, the other a queen.
Remodeled in 2011, the kitchen has propane gas stove, microwave, lots of counter space and is completely furnished. The cupboards are stocked, and all you need to bring are the perishables, your swimsuit and toothbrush.
Boat launch facilities or boat rental at Sugar Barge Marina are nearby, 5 minutes drive.
The house has a pellet stove for heat in the winter and ceiling fans for the summer. It is well insulated. Propane barbeque and large patio table on the deck are available for your use. Parking space is below the house in the front driveway and yard. We have no WiFi or internet access and no telephone, but what the heck. You are on vacation.
Waterskiing or boating: We are 10 minutes to fast water and located next to Emerald Point Marina. Launching is available at Sugar Barge Marina, 5 minutes away. Boat rental is also available there.
We have enjoyed this house as a weekend getaway, then as a vacation home and our kids grew up waterskiing here. Now the grandkids are enjoying it, too. We remodeled and upgraded the house in 2009 and it now has all the comforts we need.
Ron and Cathy Keil purchased this house in 1994
Less than 2 hours from the Bay Area, it was close enough to come for a weekend and far enough away to really relax and forget about work. The neighbors are friendly if you want to walk around and chat or they will leave you alone if you don't want to go out and meet them.
It is a quiet, relaxing place to forget about the stress of work or the rest of your problems. Close to small towns if you want to run in to a movie or a big grocery store and we have small bars, restaurants, and boating facilities close by if you need them. You can walk along the levee and see the unique houses and boats. Overall, it is just a fun place to relax and enjoy.
Very nice experience... The house was cozy and had everything you would need! The dock was awesome and Lisa (caretaker)was very nice! We can't wait to rent this house again! Wish we had longer to stay.... Thank you
Charming home on the water, we all enjoyed it immensely and will be returning soon. Everything was clean and the beds were super comfortable!
For the fisherman this is a great property. Nice slip, close to fast water and a cleaning station on the dock.
Lisa and Bob were great hosts - always there to offer help and advice.
The only thing I need to bring up is that the downstairs accommodations for sleeping are not really available.
The owner is in the process of redecorating and the facilities were not clean or ready for our use. Also the airbed did not have the cap so it was not usable. There were three of us so one of us had to sleep on the floor in the living room.
Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again next year.
We spent 5 very enjoyable nights with lots of excellent fishing. Each day was very quiet , peaceful and comfortable. The caretakers, Lisa and Bob, made sure that we had every thing we needed to enjoy our stay. We have stayed here multiple times, all with the same result, FANTASTIC!!! We are looking forward to our next stay.
Very nice location and home. It would have been nice to know that there was no air conditioner or swamp cooler for those hot day's. We are also both allergic to cat and dogs and it would have been nice to know that animals had been in the home. We were surprised that there were so many cobwebs in the home and on the deck with some of the cobwebs on the outdoor furniture being black widow webs. We did find spiders in the shower. The toilet and shower were both dirty with the shower having pink mold from the soap dish down. It also would have been nice if the bed linens smelled fresh. Personally I feel that some of the old funtiture taking up space needs to be removed and the living area really needs a sectional.
Had a great time staying at the property. Really nice place on the water, with all the necessary amenities. BBQ, deck, patio furniture, dock to fish off of, fireplace. Had it all!!! Bob and Lisa were super nice. I was greeted by a nice letter wishing me a happy birthday. She even came inside and gave us step by step instructions on how to use a pellet stove (i had never even seen one before).
All in all, a great little place that I'd definitely stay in again!!!
This is a recreation area on the Sacramento-Stockton Delta. 1000 miles of waterways, it is known for great boating, waterskiing, swimming, fishing and waterfowl.
Golf: Bethel Island public golf course is nearby.
