You share the dock and utility room with Bob and Lisa, who have a houseboat tied up there.

The house has a propane stove for heat in the winter and ceiling fans for the summer. It is well insulated. Propane barbeque and large patio table on the deck are available for your use. About Cathy Keil

We have enjoyed this house as a weekend getaway, then as a vacation home and our kids grew up waterskiing here. Now the grandkids are enjoying it, too. We remodeled and upgraded the house in 2009 and and rebuilt the dock in 2013. It now has all the comforts we need.

Cathy Keil purchased this house in 1994

Why Cathy Keil chose California

Less than 2 hours from the Bay Area, it was close enough to come for a weekend and far enough away to really relax and forget about work. The neighbors are friendly if you want to walk around and chat or they will leave you alone if you don't want to go out and meet them.

What makes this house unique

It is a quiet, relaxing place to forget about the stress of work or the rest of your problems. Close to small towns if you want to run in to a movie or a big grocery store and we have small bars, restaurants, and boating facilities close by if you need them. You can walk along the levee and see the unique houses and boats. Overall, it is just a fun place to relax and enjoy.

We have NO WiFi or internet access. The house is above ground so to get wheel chair access, you have to drive up on the levee and drop off your passenger and/or supplies. You cannot park there permanently so you must then return your car to the ground level garage. Children are welcome, but parents must be aware that the water is right out front and accessible, and you are responsible for keeping children safe. We have life vests available and insist our grandkids wear them any time they are near the water. We love pets as much as the next person, and you are responsible for any damage caused by them. Electricity is available on the dock.

Great Location Close to Franks Tract

  • 5 of 5

Nice place near the entrance to Sand Mound slough. Clean, quite, with view of the water from inside the house or on the deck. Awesome dock with parking for two boats and electricity for charging boat batteries. Short drive by boat or car to Russo's Marina for launching and Sugar Barge or Rusty Porthole for food and entertainment. Owners are great to work with...wont look for any other place to stay on the Delta when we return.

Owner's Response: Thanks Guys for this wonderful review. In real estate, the term best described is "Location, Location, Location". We obviously have the location and you folks have put the "icing on the cake" with your description of the house and the surroundings. Thank you! You are welcome back anytime.

Great place, highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

The place was great, I am a boat owner & shared the place with 2 other boat owners as well, the place is perfect for two couples or a large family! We were able to keep our boats at the dock & the 3 days out on the Delta were incredible. We had a wonderful stay, the property managers were very hospitable & helpful with any of our needs! Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy or experience the beautiful CA Delta!

Successful Fishing Trip

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay on Bethel Island. The property was exactly what we needed, amazing deck with view of the water. We spent all day fishing from the dock and caught at least 20 stripers, all undersized, but fun nonetheless. The caretakers of the property live on a large boat docked behind the home. This takes a little getting used to and is a constant reminder that you are guests at someone else's place. However, they are incredibly friendly and helpful people who's #1 priority is that you enjoy your stay. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend on the water.

Our fishing trip/vacation from Oct. 1-15, 2016

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying here and I think this stay was better than the first time! Maybe cuz we were more familiar with the house. We had a great stay/time. Beds are comfortable, the layout of the house is nice, I like having two sinks for/in the bathroom area, I like the way the bedrooms are separated, the openness in the living area, the arrangement of the furniture, a place to dock our boat, the convenience of the location, and the deck with the gates.

I would recommend this house to family, friends, or anyone who inquired of a rental home. It is very relaxing and you don't have to be "fishing" people to enjoy the house and area. It's clean inside and out! With a washer and dryer available with the house, it is easy to stay as long as you

The advertisement for the house is well done and discribes the house very well.

We totally enjoyed our stay and plan on returning (again).
