Great family break
We had a lovely relaxing weekend at Cloud End. The accommodation was spacious and very comfortable, and the open fires were just lovely in the middle of June. Our little boy loved feeding all the animals and we really appreciate the time Judy took to take us round and have a go at 'being a farmer'. Thank you!
Thanks for taking time to review Cloud end homestead. It was a delight to have you stay with me. I also appreciated all your help feeding my animals and hope to seeing you visiting with us again in the near future. Cheers Judy
Farm Stay Fun
Cloud End is a great, relaxing place for people (especially families) to stay but it could be even better if the host made a few simple changes. The cottage has three separate living areas so lots of space for everyone to spread out. My children loved feeding all the animals and taking the ponies for a walk. We also enjoyed watching all the kangaroos come and graze by the lake at dusk. Judy is an extremely friendly, helpful host and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting her. Now for the negatives, although the cottage is generally very clean and well presented (though very dated), it does need a really good dusting, as every shelf, table top and picture frame is covered in dust and cob webs. The living room also has very poor lighting which made it impossible to even read in there at night. I was also disappointed by the guest handbook. This needs to be better organised with a clear map and suggestions of things to do in the area - places to visit and restaurants to go to etc Most of the games, books and DVDs on offer are very old, incomplete, scratched, missing etc. The place needs a serious declutter and many of these things should just be thrown out. I would also suggest that the breakfast items including eggs etc be presented in a hamper/basket waiting for guests upon their arrival and the cottage could also do with a nespresso machine. Finally, my phone had NO reception whatsoever at Cloud End and there is no wifi available. If you are looking for a no frills, down to earth, genuine farm experience however, this place could be the perfect place for you.
We had a wonderful stay in the Cloud End Homestead for our wedding anniversary. Open fires, beautiful animals and delicious local produce made for the perfect escape from the city.
Thank you Judy!
beautifully located wonderful property
A spacious clean private house with amazing views and fully functional kitchen. The owners were amazing and helpful. It was a lovely 4 day stay. Will be booking again!
Lovely property and excellent location
We enjoyed our short stay at Cloud End, Judy was very hospitable and the quite location with lots of kangaroos was amazing. It is definitely family friendly - both the accomodation and farm itself. We would stay here again and think it would be great to see in the winter.

Cloud End, my husband and I can say, is the perfect get-away for work and school-weary families. It's proximity to Melbourne city made the trip leaving office Friday evening, a bit earlier than usual, completely do-able.Once there, our hosts Judy and Keith did everything to make the two nights at Cloud End total bliss. The enchanting night safari; pitch-black darkness and the stars in all their glory, along with Keith's commentary and the stunned kangaroos was something un-forgetable for the kids.As a mom, I loved every bit of theHomestead, the lovely farm eggs in the kitchen, the Spa and especially the little room with every novel and board game I could use for two days !The kids enjoyed every bit of the day as two very hard-working farmers, feeding the chooks, ponies, Isabella the pig, playing with Gracy the pup and of course their failed attempts at fishing...Come night again, and we had a lovely campfire and marshmallow toasting session with our beautiful hostess Judy who entertained us with lovely stories and beautiful wine. Thanks Judy ! And lastly, with the nearby towns of Malmsbury , Kyneton and Daylesford, we were spoilt for choice, regarding gastronomic delights and cute local artisan crafts. All in all, thank you Judy and Keith and we will be seeing you soon :)
