About Robyn Olsson
I am passionate about providing excellent holiday accommodation and service to our guests! Married with five children, I understand the importance of great family holidays. Some of our fondest memories have come about from past times spent together at family-friendly holiday locations. My husband, Murray, spent most of his growing up years at this property (now known as Eighteen Mile Homestead). He, along with three of our sons currently run a beef cattle farm in the surrounding paddocks of both the cottage and homestead. Murray is also really enthusiastic about sharing this fantastic property with guests, as does his dear mum, Jan.
What makes this Cottage unique
Private and stunning location in the Lost World Valley, part of the Scenic Rim Queensland. Nestled beside a meandering, fresh water river that is located close to its source - the Lamington National Park. Opportunities to hike and explore the 500 (approx) acre property, with mountainous views. Outdoor private campfire area. Excellent for stargazing as there are open sky areas with no city lights. Family owned and operated property for 4 decades. Possible opportunities to view a beef cattle farm in operation - sometimes guests enjoy taking part a little.

We loved the quiet location and gorgeous cottage. Owners provided more than expected for our stay at this lovely cottage. We truly got away to the country for a relaxing weekend with our two girls. We built a lovely outdoor fire and enjoyed the amazing views!
Peace, tranquil and thoughtful things
We enjoyed our stay at Eighteen Mile cottage so much! Whenever we looked for something (like a juice squeezer or grater) it was there. The owners have thought of everything that is needed, but no extra so not cluttered. The cottage has a very home farm feel, a very warm loved cottage. The creek is about 20 metres away and the fishing rods are there! The fire circle at the back is perfect for a place to sit in the evening and watch the Milky Way and other stars we've missed from being in the city light usually. Hardly any 3G so difficult for work to bug you too. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone who wants to escape the rat race and slow down for a short time. Perfect, organised and no fuss.
Relaxing, comfortable, perfect!
Lovely property with relaxing, serene surroundings. Whether you want to sit by the fire, swim in the creek or go for an adventure through the surrounding bush it is just perfect.
Will definitely be back!
Amazing as always
This is the second time we have stayed at Eighteen Mile and was just as amazing as the first. This time around we stayed at the cottage and everything about the place makes it a home away from home. Very lovely to receive a bottle of wine and chocolates on our arrival which my Husband and I enjoyed thoroughly. The kids had a great time with plenty of room to roam and our Border Collie dog was certainly in his element. Jan and Robyn are always such a pleasure to deal with and ensure everything is perfect for our stay. Highly recommend and we will be back many times in the future.
