Surry Hills is a very mixed and colourful area, and it has a long and chequered history as part of early Sydney. You are a stone's throw away rom the CBD but at the same time there is a suburban feel. Few urban areas can match the colourful contribution of Surry Hills to the history of Sydney Australia. We really loved it. Great location, handy to shops, pub, Central Station. Made our time in Sydney really enjoyable. Quaint and cosy place to stay and will stay there again.
Excellent location !
The cottage was warm n cosy & excellent location . Though it is well furnished there are several essential items missing e.g. Can opener, tongs, scissors and oven gloves. It would be great if these are added . Also unfortunately the wifi was down and we were unable to stay in to allow the technician to test onsite. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Great Location, however needed a good clean. Windows and screens were filty, as were the ceiling fans. The cutlery neede to be cleaned before we used it, as did the glasses - some still had lipstick on them from previous users.
Location, price and availability sold us. We are family of 5 with 3 kids (11,11 & 14). As per the other reviews you are close to all public transport which we used everyday of our 4 night stay. Beds basic but very comfortable with adequate room for our luggage. Very steep narrow stairs made it difficult to get bags up to bedrooms. The attic bedroom requires climbing a ladder folded down from the ceiling of one bedroom. Doors to bedrooms are only light louvres so you can hear everything everywhere. This is probably one of the only downfalls of the house (a family member snores heavily). We really only used the house to come home and rest before going out again. There is no view or balcony. We would definitely stay again if the rear bedroom had a sound-proof door.
Wonderful for families
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It has a wonderful central location within close proximity to many great cafes and walking distance to many of the Sydney sights. The beds were extremely comfortable and the addition of an attic room meant that our teenage kids both had a space of their own. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
Great place to stay
Thanks for the great stay in Surrey Hills. This place was perfect for our family of four; it had everything we needed. cheers.
