We stayed for two nights. Great accommodation with outside bbq and open fire pit. All amenities the kitchen (fridge, cooker etc). Comfy beds, clean and great surroundings
A quiet retreat is what we were looking for and that's what we got . place was clean and comfortable. visited by many different birds and one pug nose dog but over all it was great.
This is a lovely cottage and all that you will need if you are looking to relax and have a good time with family and friends. It is small, well maintained with great yard area. Includes a great hammock, lots of sitting places on the deck and in the yard, well equipped kitchen, good lighting and a decent shower. It is about 30 minute from Pitoskey state Park that we loved and also just 5 minutes from a nearby beach where you can view the lovely sunset. The owner is very helpful. She stopped by just to show us how to light the fire at the fireplace in the living area. We would go there again.
Well appointed cabin with everything you'd need, including some nice additions like a hammock, fire pit, great deck, etc. Charming & cozy with a creative use of space. Very comfortable beds & furniture.
My husband, myself, and our dog stayed at the chalet for a week in mid-October. It was the retreat we were looking for! The chalet was clean and had lots of nice little touches. The wood stove was probably everyone's favorite feature, including the dog! It was so nice and toasty on the cold and rainy day! The chalet was proximal to many of the things we wanted to do. We went to Mackinac Island (probably a 20m drive to the ferry). Leg's Inn was fantastic. We got there the week before they shut down for the season. We also ventured down to Petoskey and Charlevoix (check out the mushroom houses) and Pond Hill Farm. Driving along the coast on the tunnel of trees was so nice too! We'll definitely try to go back in the future!
We loved staying at Sylvia's 'chalet' and are already missing it! When you drive up you're immediately taken by its sheer charm. Then, when you walk in and smell the wood burning fire place and see such a well decorated cabin that is so clean, it just made the trip all the more perfect. It really is hard to find a true 'up north' feeling cottage that is clean and I was super pleased with the state of the cottage. The kitchen has everything you'd need...really pleased with the amenities.
We are a family of four with two young kids and they thought the upstairs was the 'coolest' thing ever. It definitely could've fit another kid or two if you had a larger group. We had a great time exploring the property, relaxing and taking day trips around the various towns. Beaches are very close by and we tried three of them, our favorite was Church Beach off of Lamkin, although the town beach was fun for rock gathering and the state park beach was also a favorite. Pond Hill is always a favorite and their food is really good so go there even if you aren't into feeding the animals or doing squash rockets:) The cabin was so quiet and peaceful and gave us a great family vacation before the busy school season starts. We can't wait to come back and we'd definitely recommend it!
