Custom luxury log home nestled in a National Park-like setting. Perched on top of a mountain ridge, the home has long range views to enjoy from the spacious decks. Private setting is a short walk to our pristine trout stream. Gated community with few homes, so walking is perfect for watching wildlife. Six miles to the quaint village of Hot Springs and the infamous natural mineral springs for soaking in along Spring Creek and the French Broad River. The Appalachian Trail goes through Hot Springs and the ridgeline of the AT is part of the view from the home. Come and visit the Blue Ridge Mountains at their finest; turkey, bear, bobcat, deer, raccoon, hawks, eagles, and owls share the neighborhood. The area is famous for its hiking and water sports. Relax, enjoy nature, breathe the fresh air, sit by the mtn. stream, hike through the National Forest, fish the stream, raft the French Broad River, and rejuvenate in the mountains.

I'm a real estate agent so if you come and fall in love I can help you find the perfect spot in the mountains too.
Deb Burks purchased this cabin in 2008
We were fortunate to be able to find such a perfect spot in the mountains, peaceful, beautiful, and surrounded by nature. This truly is as good as it gets:-)
Our home has soaring ceilings, beautiful wood throughout, ample windows for bringing the outdoors in, and is a comfortably appointed spacious log home.
We had a wonderful stay at the "Awe Inspiring Log Home"! There is so much to do in this incredibly beautiful area. Close by we went hiking, rafting and zip lining. We took a couple of day trips to Asheville and waterfall hikes. The area near Brevard has a very high concentration of waterfalls near each other. But my favorite thing to do was simply sit on the deck and look out over the mountains in the morning and evening. It is so peaceful here! My nervous system felt healed.
The house is great. The kitchen is very modern and better equipped than most vacation homes. Everyone felt very comfortable and there was plenty of room. The master bath has a large tub and there was plenty of hot water. We didn't watch much tv, but there's a nice flat screen in the lower level. It was very clean and Deb was super helpful and friendly. She made a point of letting us know that we could contact her any time and it wouldn't be a bother.
Thursday nights in Marshall there is free Blue Grass music at Zumas cafe. Grammy award winner Bobby Hicks plays with friends. The place was packed. We also had the best meal of our trip (including anywhere I ate in Asheville) at the Sweet Monkey Cafe in Marshall. It's a casual little place, but that chef knows what she's doing!!!!!
All in all, we fell in love with this area and were very sad to leave! I hope we get the chance to return! I would recommend this home to anyone!
This was a nice cabin in a good location. Few neighbors; it is the only house on its street. Clean, roomy. The kitchen had decent cooking equipment. Just watch out if you walk down to the creek, you have to walk back up! We took the car down to fish after the first day!
Deb was very great to work with. She provided ample information on the property and surrounding area. The house was exactly as she (and this website) describes it. The amenities were very nice...comfortable beds, couches, chairs, towels, etc... The views are wonderful. Quiet neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! We would certainly recommend this property!!
We have been making trips to this area twice a year for sometime and found our way to this beautiful log home this spring. Nothing comes close to the experience we had this trip. Such a beautiful place and great value. Our searching is over....we know where we will be staying in the future......Kay
Could not be happier with our vacation experience! Deb was wonderful--informative about the area and made sure we had everything we needed. The view was incredible and the house was clean, well-stocked, and well maintained. Would love to stay there again!
This is the perfect place for a mountain getaway. It is less than three hours from Charlotte and the booking/getting into the house could not have been easier. Deb is very friendly and easy to work with. We loved the views off of the house and the huge kitchen for cooking. It is a very private retreat with a great living room and nice bedrooms. The one thing I would add is that there is only one tv that is downstairs in the basement. It worked for us not having the tv because we spent both days out hiking, but I could see wanting to have one on the main floor if the weather hadn't been so nice.
Overall, A+. We'll be back!
