Ballaterson Cottages are situated just outside of Ballaugh village in the North of the Island, only a short distance from the Ballaugh Curraghs, and the Currraghs Wildlife Park with lake/cafe. We support the Welcome Scheme for walkers, cyclists and bikers. For anglers the island has sea and fresh water fishing in abundance. There are six reservoirs for trout fishing. The location is outside off the main TT course for enthusiasts of the TT, but far enough not to encounter the noise. The cottages are situated adjacent to the main house, consisting of two x 1 bedroomed cottages ( 5ft beds or singles available) and 1 x 2 bedroomed cottage ( 1 double and one twin , plus an additional double. We have a spare single fold up bed if required. Each cottage has its own private parking space, and outside seating area with views of the garden and mountains beyond. The 2 bedroomed cottage has its own private patio area and garden. An additional pull out single bed can be provided.

The village of Ballaugh is 1.5 miles away and has a village shop providing all supplies, post office, butchers. Nearby pubs provide good food, and Ramsey town is nearby. The coast is about 1.5 mile

CONDITIONS OF HIRE:

1. The hiring contract shall be between the hirer and the property owner and shall be deemed to be the subject.

2. Upon receipt of your booking form and deposit we will confirm by email of receipt. Balance will be due 5 weeks before arrival.

3. On the issue of a confirmation of booking the hirer is responsible for the total advertised price as shown thereon.

4. The booking deposit cannot be refunded.

5. The accommodation is only for persons named on the booking form

6. Baggage, personal belongings and vehicles are at the owners risk at all times

7. In the event of cancellations refund's can only be made if the property can be re-let, late cancellations would make this difficult. Hirers are advised to take out holiday insurance to cover this.

8. The hirer undertakes to keep the premises and all furniture, fixtures and effects in or on the premises in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday and also undertakes to leave the premises in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found. The owner shall be compensated for breakages and damage, which occurs during occupancy (fair wear and tear expected).

9. The cottage is available from 3pm on the day of arrival. Guests are asked to vacate the property by 10am on departure day. COTTAGES ARE NON SMOKING. NO ANIMALS PERMITTED.

10. The owner is to be allowed access to the property at any reasonable time during any holiday occupancy.

A peaceful stay

We very much enjoyed our stay in Georgina's cottage (no 1). It was equipped with everything we needed and was comfortable and peaceful with great views from the garden. Georgina was helpful and friendly. As others have mentioned, the Raven pub is within easy walking distance for an evening meal.

It was only after we got home that we found out that there are wild wallabies living nearby (in the Ballaugh Curraghs) - we hadn't noticed any at the time! We did see seals on a boat trip from Port Erin however - highly recommended.

Outstanding Holiday location

This was our second stay in The holiday cottage and after years of looking around the Isle of Man for somewhere that ticks all our boxes, we have found it here. We mainly go for this type of relaxing holiday location as part of the Classic TT festival, the cottage is fully fitted with everything you need, plenty of parking, private gardens and away from the main road. We take 2 motorcycles in a van and ride out from the cottage which is in an ideal location. With shops and pubs in nearby Ballaugh village or Ramsey. This holiday cottage and location must be up with the best on the island. Looking forward to returning already.

Lovely property in a lovely spot

Great sized kitchen and bedroom with a king sized bed I think. Decor to a high standard. Great view of the hills including Snaefell. Lovely garden. the food in the nearest pub, The Raven, was excellent. The nearest Spa is only five minutes drive away. Good position to visit all parts of the island.

We had not been to the IOM before but loved it. Very pleasantly surprised. Great mixture of scenery; pretty glens, open moorland and impressive sea cliffs and views. Enjoyed the trains and trams. We will definitely go back in the future.

Brilliant as always!

This is our 4th two week stay at this property and each time it lives up to expectations. The property is clean and well kept and has everything you need for a good base from which to go all over the island. Georgina is always on hand to make sure we have arrived ok and is a great source of info about events in the Island too. Locally there is a pub, The Raven, a 1.5 mile walk away which has great food. The north of the island around the cottage gives access to some stunning shorelines as well. We love the cottage and location and will undoubtedly be back for a 5th visit

Lovely cottage

House was situated in a lovely area. Very peaceful setting. First class accomadation, house was Very clean. Georgina was very helpful, sorting wifi out for us & also bringing my wee boy over games to keep him amused. Also a lovely gesture was cake on arrival. Will b back in the future xx

In very good order

Very well situated for the racing, clean and comfortable with stunning views, a very enjoyable stay. Within a mile of what is potentially one of the best spots on the island for viewing the TT, so easily accessible by foot and in contrast such serenity can be enjoyed back at your accommodation.

The properties are situated in the countryside, yet with easy access to main roads and the famous Isle of Man, TT course,

surrounded by beautiful country side, and within close proximity to the Ballaugh Curraghs, with some great views.

Ideal for, walking holidays, cycling, and enjoying the countryside and wildlife.

The sea is never far away and there are boat trips to the Calf of Man, around the Sound and Peel, where you can see seals and basking sharks at certain times of the year at the Calf of Man. Take the many footpaths for spectacular views.

Go fishing with a temporary permit at the many reservoirs. Peel and Port Erin in the South have some lovely sandy beaches for children, and there is the lake at Moraugh park in Ramsey where children can take out paddle boats, there is a childrens play area,separate water fountain, tennis courts and two cafes. Visit Peel Castle and take a walk round Castletown and its harbour.

There are also 6/7 golf courses.

Other Activities: Diving and windsuring are about 30mins away

Golf: The island is blessed with 9 good golf courses, the nearest being in Ramsey and the rest scattered around the island.
