Welcome to The Dusty Rose!

Step back in time! Come stay in our historical Victorian built in 1896 during Cripple Creek's great Gold Rush. The Dusty Rose is one of the few original brick Victorians still standing. She has been completely restored and furnished to suit the Victorian Era, yet has all the modern day luxuries.

Do you find yourself wondering what it would be like to live in the 1800s? Visit the local museum to learn more about the incredible history of Cripple Creek, the world's largest gold camp. The Dusty Rose is located in the historic gambling district, just two blocks off Bennet Avenue. It's within walking distance to the casinos or you can take the shuttle!

Enjoy gorgeous views of the town, mountains and valley from all areas of the house. The Dusty Rose is perfect for those that want to experience the history and great outdoors of Colorado or enjoy the night life that Cripple Creek has to offer. Plus, we are centrally located to many other area attractions.

Enjoy all the comforts of home in our spacious, 1500 square foot, three bedroom, 1.5 bathroom Victorian. It has been completely remodeled and furnished with antiques to suit the era. The lower bedroom is furnished with an antique full-sized slay bed and armoire. The half bath is adjacent to this bedroom.

The front upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, vanity, rocking chair and a dumb waiter. This room has awesome views overlooking the city of Cripple Creek. The back upstairs bedroom has one full size, an antique wash basin with a pitcher and bowl, an armoire, and a 24-inch flat screen TV.

The Dusty Rose sleeps a total of 9, so be sure to bring the whole family!

The living room is furnished with a comfortable couch and settee. The couch also makes into a queen-size bed. The adjoining parlor has an antique player piano with reels (please feel free to use), a fainting couch, which sleeps an additional person, a secretary (the information area) and an antique gaming table complete with games of the 1800s. Open it up and learn how to play before you hit the casinos.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all major appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, all cooking utensils, pans and dishes. Just bring the food! There is also a barbecue grill, patio furniture and a hot tub on the back patio for your outdoor enjoyment. The dining room seats eight and is open to the kitchen area. For your convenience, there is also a separate laundry room.

The Dusty Rose is a very unique lodging experience. It`s ideal for family holidays, reunions, anniversary celebrations or romantic honeymoons. Great for groups or just a couple's getaway.

There's an abundance of activities in the area to do year round!

Visit the museums, ride the train, or take a mine tour to learn more about the wonderful history of Cripple Creek. Eat at the fabulous restaurants and shop at the cozy stores throughout the town. Then enjoy a theater play or melodrama. Don`t forget to have some fun in the casinos! There`s something for everyone here. We have completely restored this home & furnished with antiques to suit the era. Our home is very personalized & is gauranteed to take you back in time!

What an adorable, quaint, feel good home. We did a lot of walking back and forth to town, a bit out of breath going UP, but understandable since we live at 12 feet above sea level. Kim was great to talk with and we'd highly recommend this beautiful home to everyone.

Wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 rented the Dusty Rose for our week long stay in Cripple Creek, Co. The home was perfect for our needs. Centrally located to area sight seeing opportunities, near to downtown, but not so close to be bothersome and excellent amenities! The owners were very accommodating as well. We had two vehicles, one of which was a truck camper and 2 trailers. We asked in advance and the owners were fine with us parking all of them on the property.

The home was supplied with linens and towels as well as dishes and pots n pans. Having access to a washer and dryer was a huge plus!

The hot tub was well kept, clean and the perfect temperature! We were in the hot tub within 30 minutes of our arrival.

There is a guest book in the home that was fun to read and to add to. By reviewing the guest book, we obtained some good ideas for places to dine.

At one point, we locked ourselves out of the house and the neighbors - who are also the care takers - were kind enough to let us in.

Our stay at the Dusty Rose was our first vacation rental, but will not be our last! The price and convenience of a vacation rental is so much better than staying at a hotel. Having access to a kitchen ensures that a wonderful vacation will not be a budget buster!

The entire process, from booking to check out - including a myriad of questions from me (I'm a bit of a control freak) was easy and smooth. Lauren answered all of my questions and never once seemed bothered.

I cannot recommend this home - or owners - enough!

My cousins and I had a very good time.

We have annual cousin's reunions and this was a good stay as we could all be together.

Our family loves to play cards, so we had a great time doing this, laughing remembering old times, etc.

Great place in the high country

  • 5 of 5

We enjoy our trips to Cripple Creek whenever we have the chance to get away. This is the first time we booked a vacation home rather than stay at a B&B or a hotel. Wow, what a difference. This place offers not only exceptional privacy, but a home that is full of antiques, old time pictures and a little bit of the history of Cripple Creek. The owners have truly provided a home away from home to all that venture here. This town is exciting, adventurous and gleaming with history. As a bonus, it's just far enough from the 'casinos' to feel secluded from the action, but close enough to walk if you want to gamble a bit. We would definitely stay here again.

What a way to celebrate turning 30

  • 5 of 5

Wow, that is all we can say about this great place! We booked this house to host a gathering of friends to celebrate my 30th birthday after searching for an affordable house to sleep all of our group that had a hot tub and mountain views. We did not expect it to be this nice or have so much to offer. The house itself looks kind of small from the outside, but once you are inside it has tons of room and feels very warm and inviting. The hot tub off the patio was amazing for everyone. The 1st night there a couple were in the hot tub while 8-10 mule deer wandered through the side yard not 10 yards from them soaking, which was great. Easy to walk to the downtown strip for shopping, eating, and gaming. Off street parking, very nice neighbors, and amazing views are just a sampling of what this place has to offer. Never really felt cramped with 9 of us in the house at the same time for meals, which was nice. Recommend this home for anyone looking to get away from it all, as it was perfect. We had no plans for the weekend and found that walking to the downtown and hitting the shops, casinos, and candy stores was a highlight for everyone. Soaking in the hot tub at night was great, tons of stars! It snowed on us Saturday evening and it was amazing to be inside looking outside as it snowed and covered the ground with around an inch of snow...picture perfect for a March stay. We found the ownership to be great to work with, house rules easy to follow, and plan to return again whenever we it is perfect for a long weekend getaway with friends, couples, or anyone frankly who wants to enjoy a great mountain town AND stay in comfort the entire time.

Thank you for helping build memories that will last a lifetime as we all celebrated a milestone with laughter, fun, and relaxation!

Valentine's Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and another couple booked this house because all the motels were booked for the holiday weekend. Weren't we lucky, we had to look further. Delightful accommodations. We plan to go back during the summer to tour the mines and ride on the trains. I think it would be a great place to take our adult children as well. We were unable to work the thermostat, luckily it wasn't unbearably cold. Otherwise, everything is well stocked. Just take yourselves, clothing, and food and you're set to go.

Owner's Response: We're so happy you enjoyed your stay! We love this home and the Cripple Creek area and we'd love to have you back again. I'm so sorry the house was chilly for you. It is an older home and the heater doesn't move the hot air well, it's forced to circulate naturally which doesn't happen quickly. I wish you would have called, we have space heaters and electric blankets that we could have mentioned. If there's anything we can do to help you plan your next trip, please let us know! Thank you for staying with us. -Red Door
