Something special, something more

We really don't have words for how lovely and loved this home is. The views are lovely, accomadations so comfortable and the "little things" to numerous to mention (but I will try, you should bring your own first aid kit but they have one, my children are grown, but the baby spoon made me smile, my dogs were at home, but the dog bowls made me happy, the effort to think of the earths needs were all around us, the kitchen was ridiculously well stocked.....). Arches is an easy 15 minute drive, and coming back from a wonderful but tiring long days hike (the towers! No one there!!) was a welcome respite

Wonderful house in a nice location.

  • 5 of 5

Here are the good things about the house:

• The house and the surrounding gardens are really lovely. We were looking for a place that was a destination in itself, and this house fits the bill. Great views out the windows, lovely patios on all sides, wonderful furnishings, excellent kitchen gear and tableware.

• The owners are great. They welcomed our dog, they responded quickly to requests. There was a problem with the electric supply and when we let them know they quickly replied to us and dealt with it.

• The house is near Moab, but not too near, and it's right down the road from a great trailhead. I could wake up in the morning, walk 5 minutes, and be on the Hidden Valley trail.

Here are a few things to be aware of:

• The house has green elements, but there are some elements that could use some thought if one really wants to live green. There's a hot tub, for instance; not exactly a green choice, but we really liked it, and I was glad it was there.

• The house isn't in a secluded location. It's a beautiful location, but it's in an area with some nice houses but also some trailers with old cars and such in the yard. We didn't mind; we loved the eclectic mix. But it's worth knowing.

Overall, we were very, very happy with the Pearl and our stay there.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your great feedback. Yes, Moab is not short on old cars, we feel lucky that we only look at a few! We hope to add some foliage on that side when we get water to that area. We agree totally with the hot tub but it is probably the single most requested amenity! To compensate, we are installing solar PV (this week actually!) on the new guest house, which ironically was the cause of your electrical problem. We've designed it to feed the main house and should compensate for the carbon foot print of the tub. Thanks for your patience with that, and all the trouble shooting you did. We hope you'll be back! A perfect spot for a Moab adventure

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this house. First, the location is very close to town but is quiet and private. The outdoor space is wonderful. Chairs, hot tub, shade, sun, views. There are two patios plus the area where the hot tub is. Very spacious. The house itself is beautiful. The kitchen is large, well stocked, and easy to cook in for a family of 4. Living area is comfortable, welcoming. Beds are very comfortable. Loft was perfect for my middle school aged kids, who were fine with the sturdy ladder to access it. Bathrooms are lovely. Also, the commitment to low environmental impact is really impressive, and something we all took seriously. I would highly recommend this house for your visit to Moab. Pipe Dream bike trail, which is just a minute from the house, is great. Also, super quick to get to Arches, which is great since in the summer you want to get there early. Communication with owners was very easy and quick.

Beautiful scenery, quiet, and clean.

  • 5 of 5

It was just my husband, me, and our dog. I wish we could have stayed for more than four nights. We have stayed in vacation rentals all over the world. The Moab Pearl is the best equipped rental. When we rent a place with a fantastic view, we like to eat in, drink wine and enjoy scenery. The kitchen had everything we needed. The gas grill worked perfectly with all utensils needed for grilling. There was cooking oil, spices, coffee, tea, sugar, napkins, paper towels, and plenty of dish towels, bath towels, and even lint brushes. I forgot our lint brush and was happy to see 3 on the living room side table.. We drove from Scottsdale with a cooler full of food. Usually something is forgotten and we have to go to the store. This time we didn't need to and instead had more time to enjoy being in the Moab Pearl. There are two hiking trails just a five minute walk down the road. It was fun sitting out on the patio bird watching and seeing the rabbits chasing each other. Our last night there, we ordered take out food from Bangkok House Too which is a 10 minute drive to town. There is another Bangkok House that is only a quarter of a mile away but it was closed Wednesday eve. The best view for dining is at the Moab Pearl. We had fun hiking during the day and seeing Arches National Park and enjoying the Moab Pearl in the evening.

Serene private location with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

I was really nervous about picking the right spot in Moab that was close to town and Arches but also felt like you were in nature and this house was perfect. Beautiful big windows in a open living room/kitchen/dining room setup. We barbecued outside on the grill, made a fire and had smores, went in the hot tub...this place offers all the perks. Besides that it's well kept with nice towels and sheets, all the kitchen appliances (we made waffles every morning) and is simply just well done. I'm picky and I was very pleased with the stay for the price. I plan on staying here again. Nice people, beautiful house and very convenient!
