About Susan and Gary Segal

We are a family who loves the mountains! We live in the Chicago area and have traveled to Colorado for many years. We love to hike in Rocky Mountain National Park and sometimes just sit by a mountain stream or lake to enjoy the beauty.

Susan and Gary Segal purchased this house in 2007

Why Susan and Gary Segal chose Rocky Mountain National Park

Estes Park was our first choice because of the National Park and all it's amenities and grandeur. We had been all over Colorado and love it in the summer. We did not want to be in a ski area as the National Park is the best place to hike and be in the Spring, Summer and Fall!

What makes this house unique

It is such a pleasure being five minutes from the entrance Rocky Mountain National Park, five minutes from downtown Estes Park, and most of all, being able to sit on our deck or in our private hot tub and just look at the majestic scenery of the Continental Divide!

Home exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful family reunion in this beautiful home. Grandma and grandpa traveled from Florida and enjoyed the luxurious master suite with the king bed, large bathroom with twin sinks, and the huge walk-in closet. Our daughter and son-in-law traveled from California with their toddler and stayed in one bedroom. Our son and his girlfriend (Colorado people) stayed in the other bedroom. The kids really enjoyed the separate downstairs living room space and deck with hot tub. We all comfortably fit in the upstairs living room with fireplace, and cooked many family meals in the large, well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the great views from both decks, and took advantage of them daily. The location was great, just a short distance from RMNP and just the right distance away from downtown Estes Park. Everyone loved the stay here. Hope to be back again.

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our family vacation at this house. We had 6 adults and 2 kids. The location was prefect. Easy access to town and RMNP. The open concept of the house made it very inviting for lots of family togetherness especially during dinner time. The hot tub was great after a long hike!

My only issue was we were gonna put the kids on the sleeper sofa and Futon as it is advertised. However we could not find the futon. My daughter left a message with the care takers but never heard back. It wasn't a big deal as our 12 year old grandson that it was cool to make his room in the mater suite closet because it was so big.

We visit Colorado every 3- 4 years and would easily come back and stay at the house!!!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry for the mix up with the sleeping situation. We had to get a new sofa in the upstairs living room last year and did not replace it with a sleeper. Since our requirements are sleeping for 8 only, we still have the sleeper sofa in the downstairs living area that sleeps 2. Hope you will consider coming back in the future!

Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home to spend Christmas with our family. It was the perfect size with three plus bedrooms. The kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed to cook Christmas dinner and breakfast everyday! The family room and fire place was a great setting for relaxing, playing games and watching movies. The mountain views from the Large windows were amazing! The beds and bathrooms felt just like home! It was conveniently located to the town, restaurants and breweries. We all loved the hot tub on the patio!!! We were very happy with our stay and can't wait to come back!!!

Amazing Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this home justice. This home is so beautiful and offers wonderful views. I enjoyed waking up each morning to a marvelous sunrise, coffee in hand, in comfortable chairs. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a scrumptious dinner. So close to everything in town and RMNP. We loved the hot tub overlooking Mary's Lake. I cannot wait to book our next stay there.

Aaahhh. Now THIS is a vacation retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We were here for a week in mid-September for a family wedding in RMNP. The home was spotless upon arrival. Instructions from owners about location and key were clear. The layout of the house is great for parents with two sets of adult children. Sat down on the upper deck, and yes, elk were bugling. The next evening, we were lucky to hear a crack, sat quietly, and watched as a bull elk and 14 cows passed nearby as they grazed. The spacious hot tub was put to good use every evening. This home is perfectly situated in a quiet neighborhood. Turn right out of the neighborhood, you get to the east side of Estes Park in just minutes. Turn left, you get to the west side of Estes Park and RMNP entrance. Gary and Susan, thank you so much for letting us use your home; it helped make this one of the most memorable weeks for our family!
