Excellenct stay at the Loon Lodge

  • 5 of 5

I think we stayed back in 2014? But for when I remember it was a great experiment. We met the guy I believe is to be Dennis? and he was helpful throughout the whole trip. Very quiet and relaxing area. The lake actually goes into the bigger lake with kayaks and the jet skis we rented. I'm actually stopping by to rent again for another get away at the same place. I wish there was a way I could post a photo because the sunset view was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Great Stay at Loon Lodge

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay at Loon Lodge. Plenty of room for all of us, kids really enjoyed the kayak's, row boat and fire pit. The owners were very accommodating and helpful, the Lodge itself clean and well kept. Lodge is located in a very quiet neighborhood yet close enough to town to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Traverse City. Definitely recommed Loon Lodge!

Loon Lodge - Lovely Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Loon Lodge May 11-17, 2015. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay by the lake. Would definitely love to come back and would recommend it to friends. It is very closely located to Traverse City and many local attractions.

Perfectly Relaxing time on a quite lake.

  • 5 of 5

The property was very clean and well maintained. Dennis was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this vacation home if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful, large deck which is right off the kitchen and is almost at lake level. We grilled out on the gas grill, read books and took in the view on the deck, went for after dinner walks, trekked up the Sleeping Bear Sand Dune, traveled up both peninsulas, ate a fine lunch at Amical in Traverse City, visited two lighthouses, and had an amazing tour of the Music House. We will definitely consider returning.

Beautiful home on placid lake

  • 5 of 5

Our week at Loon Lodge exceded our expectations! Dennis was there to welcome us and show us around and made us feel right at home. We had two young children and I liked the fact that we could watch them from the back deck as they played in the lake. When we went sightseeing we found that we were near to Sleeping Bear National Seashore, wineries and Traverse City. The home was very well equiped and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed including spices for cooking. We will be back as a family but my next stay will be for a "girl friend's week".

PS My husband said to add that everything worked!!

Wonderful Autumn Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was just as billed and we loved staying in it. It was clean and cozy even though there is lots of space for family or guests.

The smaller view of Mickey lake was one of our favorite things about the stay. Beautiful. It was cool at times, but since we were there to boat and canoe, that worked out just fine for us.

Dennis could not have been more helpful as we had some issues with our boat motor. He and Carol are wonderful hosts. It was really nice meeting them both.

We stayed close much of the time but we loved The Omelette Shoppe, North Peak Brewery, and Boone's Inn. Boat rides on the small and big lake were great and the pontoon boat ride was especially nice. Thanks again. We'll be back!
