Carol purchased this studio in 1998
Old College friends bought this property for me and held it until I could pay for it. A great 'drinking story' if guests are ever really interested in hearing this one!
This house is in a residential setting but so very close to local micro-breweries, Fort Worden, golf course and more. The view of the bay is mesmerizing. Lots of Bambi's abound.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carol's Holcomb Hide Away in Port Townsend.
I only wish we were there longer.
Carol is very welcoming and interested in her guests.
She made us feel quite at home.
Carol had a lovely spread of treats awaiting us on arrival...bread, cheese, fruit, etc, etc...super nice.
Her place was lovely, comfortable, and just right for us.
I loved watching stars at night on the deck.
Thank you, Carol, for sharing your home with us.

My daughters and I had a wonderful mother/daughter trip! Carol stayed to welcome us and give us the tour even though we couldn't get in until the late ferry from Coupeville. The room was very inviting, and the bed and hideabed were very comfy. We even had a surprise, coming back after a day of shopping there was a deer in the driveway! Lots and lots of fun! Definitely would go back! Thanks Carol!
Carol is a total sweetheart first of all! She provides basically everything you need for time away. We didn't even finish all the goodies she welcomed us with. Port Townsend is a treasure and Carols cottage is the perfect hideaway to enjoy it! We will be back!
The cottage was clean, we'll appointed and came with a few extras provided by Carol. We really enjoyed our stay!
My husband and I had the extremely rare opportunity to get away for a few days without our daughter. And we could not have picked a better place! The Holcomb Hideaway is sweet, romantic and very relaxing.
The hot tub is divine! I have an allergy to bromine, which means I can't enjoy most hot tubs, but Carol's uses some sort of ozone technology and I was able to sit in it for HOURS with no reaction!!!
Carol, herself, is a wonderful hostess. She is gracious and very welcoming. She clearly loves sharing her magical space. She left us some wonderful local bounty to enjoy, (and we ate all of it!!). She also provided fluffy white robes and big towels for the hot tub.
The backyard space is a gem. There is a hammock, a grill, the hot tub, and lovely seating and outdoor dining to enjoy - all surrounded by beautiful, mature landscaping.
The bed was comfortable and we both slept very well. The bathroom is roomy and the shower has great water pressure. The towels are fluffy and large. Everything was perfect.
It is a true piece of paradise. We will be returning.
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Carol's place. Carol herself was an amazing host and we felt more like we were staying with a family member than renting a property. She met us at the house and went over everything with us and even left us some goodies to eat and drink! The cottage was perfect for the two of us, with a huge balcony overlooking the water below, lots of room, a well stocked kitchenette, and best of all, an amazing hot tub!
It was a fantastic stay, and next time we have a chance to visit Port Townsend, we will be staying here again!
Local Wineries, Farmers Market on Sat and Wed Weekly, Many Festivals at Fort Worden State Park through Centrum.org, Quilcene Concerts in the Barn Series, many local poets, writers, playwrights, and musicians. Breathtaking views of the Straits of Juan de Fuca and the Salish Sea. Glass Beach is a great shore side hike for shelling and collecting glass pieces hewn by the ocean.
