Had a wonerful time in this Lake Lure cabin. 3 old froends met at cabin with families. Hime is located is a gated and private community. The home was easy to locate, plenty of parking for 4 cars, very private location. We were 10 minutes from town with restaurants on the lake and some on the river. Big grocery store maybe 2 miles away but the feel of being in a remote cabin in the mountains was great. We requested a fire pit. There was one when we arrived. Kids collected twigs and firewood. Had a nice marshmallow roast. Great home and a great location. Highly recommend for multi family groups or just a family vacation.
Great home. Plenty of room for our group of 7. Huge yard and woods for kids to play. Close to restaurants and town. Very comfortable. Excellent.
Great place to stay
We stayed in the cabin in December 2018. The cabin has a great location that is close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. It is approx. 1 hour from Asheville and 1:45 from Boone. We drive a large vehicle and the cabin was easy to access. There were no steep or narrow mountain roads. You are also very close to the restaurants at Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. There is an Ingles grocery and Dollar General within 10 minutes if you need to pick something up.
As far as the layout, the cabin is very efficient for the square footage. There is a loft that can comfortably sleep 4, and 3 other bedrooms/sleeping areas. We have 6 kids and everyone was comfortable. The cabin is decorated in a way that is cute and homey, but that you don't have stuff in your way or have to worry about damaging or breaking excess decorations. When we arrived, there was a Christmas tree on the porch and one in the living room, which was very welcoming. The kitchen/dining/living room area is also nicely laid out to where you can spend time together. If you are looking for some time apart, there is a basement with a tv/game system and foosball table that the kids can enjoy.
We walked around the neighborhood while we were there. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from the back side as you go further into the neighborhood. You are in a nice quiet environment to relax.
Liz, the owner, was very responsive any time that we had any questions or needs. She has a binder in the cabin full of pamphlets of surrounding attractions, suggestions on restaurants, and ideas of things locally to do.
The cabin is set up with starter paper and trash bag, cooking utensils, dishes, and everything that you would need. There is wifi in the cabin. The wifi has a set amount of devices that can be logged on at once, so we had to prioritize when we needed something connected to the internet. This may only be an issue if you have a lot of phones, tablets, or computers that you are trying to use at once. The wifi was fine for my work, internet, or streaming. If you have Tmobile, the coverage is spotty by the cabin, so you will need to use wifi for calling, texting, and data.
We had a great time at the cabin. It has a great location and was comfortable, even for a family of 8. We would recommend this for any traveler to the area.
Great cabin. Private and quiet
The cabin was very clean and well equipped. We wish we could have stayed longer!! Will definitely be back.
So happy you enjoyed it!
Very relaxing "get away" to the mountains!
This was a family vacation with husband, daughter, son-in-law and 2 year old grandson. It was so relaxing and a peaceful location in the mountains of a gated community located near Lake Lure, North Carolina.. There was ample space for all of us and loved the FRONT PORCH SWING! Daughter and son-in-law were able to enjoy a day trip touring the Biltmore House in Asheville, while my husband and I spent time with our grandson. They also climbed Chimney Rock on another day, which is very close by. I had a couple of questions prior to our arrival, (such as coffee pot and hair dryer, yes they included) and the owner, Liz was very responsive to me. We would stay here again!
Cozy modern log cabin
This cabin was perfect for our multi- generational family vacation. Upon walking up onto awesome porch with a porch swing and hanging ferns we were welcomed by a cute little wood carved bear. We entered the main room and adorable mountain art graced the walls in the open airy living space. Four areas for sleeping and privacy for all three families were more than adequate. We were close to Lake Lure and did a trip to Chimney Rock and hiked to Hickory Nut Gorge Waterfall all in the two days we stayed. My only complaint was we wished we had more time to spend there. I would definitely recommend this house to other friends and family due to having all the creature comforts of home and it’s proximity to Asheville and surrounding attractions.
