perfect! This is the perfect cabin. It is exactly what you imagine when you think of a cabin getaway in the mountains. It is private, wonderfully cozy and comfy. Enjoyed every minute of our time there.

Mountain trip

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed this perfect mountain cabin for a quick spring getaway. Very comfortable with rustic bear theme. Sitting outside on cool evenings around the fire pit watching the sunset behind the mountains was the most enjoyable part of our trip. Cabin is easy to get to and close to town and stores but in a very private spot with plenty of room for long walks and hikes in nature. A very good choice.

Cozy Cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is very cozy and clean. The living room, bedrooms and porches are really comfortable--especially if you love a woodsy black-bear themed lodge. The beds are adequate; the showers are hot and powerful. And the kitchen has the utensils you need to cook basic meals. The charcoal grill is also easy to use.

The Lake Lure area is worth a visit. The views from Chimney Rock and the Lake Lure boat tour (a must) are stunning. The restaurant scene is okay (eat at Larkins if you can), but eating out is not why you go to Lake Lure. You go to the area for the excellent hiking and other outdoor activities. If you go to see stunning waterfalls, you won't be disappointed.

There are a few downsides to the property, though none are deal breakers. First, the stairs are steep and slippery--definitely not easily negotiated by young children or older adults. Second, the house is on top of a mountain, but the view is not stunning. If you are looking for dramatic mountaintop sunsets, find another house. Finally, the house is in a gated community, but the roads in the neighborhood are gravel, often steep and winding. That didn't bother us, but others might find the trek up the mountain difficult.

Charming

  • 5 of 5

Very unique comfortable cabin. It is in a beautiful spot and very well stocked with everything you could need. Rocking chairs on the porch were a perfect touch . We had a peaceful, relaxing and much needed vacation in this wonderful spot. On our daily walks to the lake we saw many deer and some turkeys. We fell in love with the entire Lake Lure area and plan to be back soon.

Peaceful and tranquil

Tucked away in the woods in a very quiet location. We enjoyed our time in this special spot. Sitting outside in the evenings we saw deer almost every morning and evening. Had a great time.
