Kilcunda Cottage ....

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

Kilcunda Cottage is located in the sleepy seaside village of Kilcunda, just 10km from Phillip Island and 14km from Wonthaggi on the stunning Bass Coast.

We are located in the street directly behind the Kilcunda Pub (Ocean View Hotel) which is famous for not only a fabulous view of the coastline from the front deck, but also great food and hospitality.

Kilcunda and Shelley beaches are just across the road (less than 200m), both provide plenty of good surfing, boogie boarding, rockpools and protected inlets for families.

Good fishing is had from estuary(Powlett River), surf or rocks.

Our older style cottage is set on a large allotment with a pet friendly fully fenced rear yard, there are two bedrooms, one with double queen size bed (BYO linen) and 2nd bedroom with 1 single bed & 1 upr/lwr single bunk beds, the room can accommodate 3 children (BYO linen), fully equipped small kitchen and bathroom with shower and separate toilet, also has an outside Hot shower for washing sand off. To see more cottage & local photo's please google our website kilcundacottage dot net dot au

Please be aware: Kilcunda Cottage is budget family accommodation, our rates are low because

• You bring you own linen & towels

• You must clean the cottage prior to departure

• It is a family holiday house (please refer to photo gallery before booking)

Pet Friendly Accommodation

Pets are not a problem to us, the property is fenced with approximately a 200sqm secure dog run (1500 high fence). There is a rear porch area where pets could be kept undercover overnight.

Late "Check-out"

We have nominated 4:00pm as the "check-out" time on the day of departure, so guests can enjoy their last day at the cottage without the rush that an early "check-out" requires. (We really appreciate late "check-outs" on our travels and hope our guest appreciate it as well) Also we may be able to accommodate an early "check-in" (prior to 4:30pm). Please contact us, a couple of days prior to your arrival to see if this option is available.

KIlcunda Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our four night break at Kilcunda Cottage. It is a great base for exploring a spectacular stretch of coastline on foot or by bike, and its securely fenced back yard enabled our dogs to run and play for hours on end.

The well equipped kitchen , modern bathroom facilities, comfortable beds and cosy lounge area all add up to making a great, value-for money stay.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time staying at Kilcunda Cottage, the location was great for many different day trips, walking distance to the Killy Pub, General Store and beach, will definitely return! Thanks Kilcunda Cottage for also being pet friendly, we would never leave our best mate out, so this was the deciding factor in booking with you :)

Fair to average

  • 2 of 5

We really in enjoyed our stay in Kilcunda the property had excellent fencing for our dog to be safe.Items that concerns me are that when we arrived dirty towels were left on the towel rack. The house obviously hadn't been cleaned for quiet some time the skirting boards and window ledges were covered in dust. The windows were dirty. The house had a smell of vomit. As my daughter both suffer from hay fever we were sneezing and blocked up. I have spoken with the owner re cleaning and suggested they employ someone and not leave it up to the customers to clean. as people will only do the bear necessities The property was well equipped with cooking utensils and pots. There wasn't a mop and bucket available to clean the floor.

Owner's Response: Hello Lyndell, as I said on the phone we are extremely sorry that you walked into such a mess and sorry that we couldn't accommodate your request to extend your stay. It was unfortunate that your booking followed the Phillip Island Moto GP, which property owners in the area have had problems with in the past. Hence we are reluctant to take bookings directly after the event as you did, next year we will be taking a cleaning bond for that particular weekend and blocking the calendar until the cottage can been reviewed to avoid this happening again. Re: No Mop & Bucket, the flooring throughout the cottage is MDF based material it is not recommended to be mopped with buckets of water, the recommendation is to use a damp cloth only, there is a Oates Ezy Glide flat mop there which we have supplied along with spare inserts.
