Great property

  • 5 of 5

Clean, tidy, spacious and just a short stroll to the village supermarket, restaurants and cafes.

Rooms were comfortable and adequately catered for our large group. We rented in summer and there was a nice breeze flowing through the house when we opened the balcony doors.

Definitely recommend staying here and will rent again

Owner's Response: Thanks for the 5 star review. I am glad the house worked for you. The community certainly became excited by Tour de France - L'Etape Jindabyne. It is great to see summer bookings increasing over time. We have had 4 major cycling events (road touring and MTB) across 5 weekends. I am pleased the breeze worked for you, but for anyone reading this review, there are also 3 reverse cycle air conditioners in the property as a plan B. It can be quite warm down here in Summer.

Great for 2 families with extra room for friends

  • 5 of 5

Friendly owner, easy to book with. The place was clean and comfortable, a great setup with 2 living areas so the kids could do their own thing. Plenty of room so friends could come too. Close to shops but quiet location. Great value.

Owner's Response: Thanks for a great review. The space and location are what appeals to people most. When I purchased the property, it was set up illegally as three separate units. I have joined it all together to make one compliant property, that is why there is so much living space for the size of the building, and number of bedrooms. I think it works well for multiple family/friend bookings, as you pointed out.

Excellent accomodation

  • 5 of 5

It's an ideal place if you are a group or a family of 2 or 3. We had 5 kids altogether and enjoyed our stay from the start. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. All of us had very restful sleep both nights in this place. (I usually find it hard to sleep in a new place, but this place felt like home). There are no bunk beds here so kids are safe from falling off beds. Each bedroom was spacious for us parents, while kids joined together and formed their own separate bedroom upstairs.

We used the barbecue and was not hard to clean up as well. Absolutely peaceful place with no disturbances from neighbours or traffic, compared to the noisy, busy life where we live in Sydney.

We got to meet Dianne who manages/owns the place and is very helpful, friendly and understanding. (She even gave us an extra hour to stay, just because we lost an hour due to daylight saving).

Will definitely go back and strongly recommend this accommodation to others.

Owner's Response: Thanks Gerard, Your kids seemed to be very excited about the house. I am glad they were able to join together and "camp out" in the largest (4-5bed) bedroom. I would be delighted to have you again - hopefully for a longer holiday. Please tell your son, who enquired about wi-fi, that it will be available in the house free of charge for your next stay. I hadn't supplied it in the past because I had not been able to obtain unlimited download in the past, so first guests of the month used it all up, leaving nothing. When you have 12 young people in a house, they are very data hungry. DoDo has offered me unlimited download, so I am thrilled to be able to upgrade my service to my guests.

Excellent accomodation

An ideal place to stay if you are a group, or even 2 or 3 families with kids. We were 3 families with a total of 5 kids and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this place. The accomodation is very clean and was also very close to the shops. The kitchen is well equipped and clean. All of us had very restful sleep both nights in this place. The lady who manages/owns is very helpful, friendly and reasonably flexible. (She even gave us an extra hour to stay just because we lost an hour due to daylight saving).

Will definitely go back and strongly recommend this accommodation to others.

Simply brilliant!

  • 5 of 5

We booked the entire house for our stay and found that it ended up being so much bigger than I expected it to be. With four children, I try to be as organised as possible and pack to ensure that I have things to make my life easier EG kitchen utensils and appliances as rental properties so often have the bare minimum and low quality at that. What a surprise it was to find that not only did I pack unnecessarily but I over-shopped as well.

The kitchen has virtually every appliance that one could poke a stick at (there is even a rice-cooker) and condiments both basic and "specialty." There was ample tea, coffee, sugar and yet another unexpected treat, delicious hot chocolate which the kids relished. The cupboards had sauces, herbs and spices, olive oil, dressings and the list goes on. The fridge had milk and butter and orange juice to welcome us as well as small boxes of basic cereals.

There is more than ample amount of containers, crockery and cutlery, paper towel, plastic wrap, foil, baking trays and this was all just in the upstairs kitchen.

As for the house itself, it is clean and well presented and the beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were comfy too - I take my own pillow everywhere (I know that's OCD) but Aalen's pillows were of a very good standard and plenty of them. Having a few living areas allowed for us to not be under each other's feet, especially after a long day of skiing, and having Foxtel was an added bonus. It's location to the centre of town - walking distance - made life so much easier too.

Though I didn't meet Dianne, her correspondance was fantastic and her understanding, even greater. I would highly recommend this house and we plan to make Aalen a regular place to stay in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks Tania for such a lovely review. It is nice to be appreciated. The cereal boxes, butter and orange juice were not actually provided by me, maybe one of your family had visited the shops, so I can't take credit. However, I do like leaving salt, pepper, basic spices etc. I picked that trick up in Canada. As they are not new/sealed, they are pretty much - use at your own discretion. I don't check supplies of foil and gladwrap etc, so I don't advertise they are there. People often leave unused wraps behind, and it is silly to discard something so useful. I am very happy you appreciated my kitchen as well. I try to think what may be useful. It is a bit of a dilemma what to leave, as some people are careless with appliances, but I cover myself by not advertising their availability. If I say something is there, and it is not, I disappoint people. On the flip side, it is probably annoying for people to discover they have over-packed. I look forward to meeting you on your next visit.
