Cabin was perfect EXCEPT for the upstairs bed. It needs to be replaced immediately. HUGE dip in the middle. The bed frame is overly large and completely blocks the use of the upstairs window. Firewood for the stove is not provided, you must purchase that yourself in town. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Water heater is very small which means REAL FAST showers. The sauna is an awesome feature. Front doormat would be a nice addition. We dropped the key because it was so cold, and it just barely missed falling between the boards. Easy location to find at night due to the outside lighting that comes on automatically. Front handrail at stairs was broken and made for serious caution and concern with the snow covering the steps.
Wonderful location, cozy cabin
My husband and I enjoyed staying at this cabin, and it is exactly as advertised. Here are a few of our insights to help you, if you reserve this little place. Try to get the check in code one day in advance. I trusted we would receive it at check-in time or before, but had to call and text the owner to receive it. A bit stressful while you are sitting in your rental car waiting to hear back. Also, there is one bathroom and you do not have to go outside to an outhouse in the middle of a dark, cold night. But note the toilet is a disposable one - so waste goes into a bag and you need to take it out and replace the bag. Because of this, the bathroom is smelly and if you are sensitive to smell - beware! The last point is, the bed upstairs is a king but sags in the middle. If you have a bad back or sleep best on a firm mattress take note. The cabin was clean, had everything we needed and is very cute inside. Linens were clean, the shower was hot, the wifi worked well and the tv was fine, limited to a few local channels but online so you can stream. :) It was central to all things Fairbanks and we enjoyed it!
It's a very nice cabin very clean you have a great time
Next time when I come up will be in the summertime I will bring my wife and this is where I will stay thanks again Jackie
The cabin is located nearby the University, where there is a large sledding hill in the winter, an athletic center, bowling, and an amazing Museum filled with artifacts from Alaskan cultures.
