Ann Arbor (Bellanina) Guest House is located in the heart of Ann Arbor's historic Kerrytown District and one block from Bellanina Day Spa. This exclusive and private residence is on the second floor of a 160 year old home surrounded by antique perennials and across from Kerrytown Shops and Market and the famed Kerrytown Farmer's Market (open Wednesdays & Saturdays in season). The area is vibrant with life and activity. With the Kerrytown Concert House next door, classical and jazz music often escapes their confines and fills the Guest House! Our floors are creaky but are covered in Natural Seagrass flooring and antique oriental rugs. The charm of this house keeps regulars, such as parents of kids at U of M or those coming for football weekends coming back. It becomes their home away from home. We have housed many professors for short and extended stays or couples come to escape their work-a-day world in search of a little peace and quiet from the kids and a night on the town.
Bellanina Day Spa & Spa Amenities: Bellanina Day Spa & Gift Boutique is a sister company, located one block South on Fourth Avenue. Bellanina Day Spa is an award winning Spa with the finest services in skin care, massage and nail services, steam rooms, whirlpool hydrotherapy and a gift boutique. My life is ruled by my dog, Ling-Ling. I never thought a dog could have such power over me! When I am not playing with them I am busy running 4 Guest Houses in Ann Arbor, and being Co-Owner of Bellanina Day Spa (one block south of this location) or Bellanina Instiute (located on the first floor of this Kerrytown location). I travel a lot teaching a wonderful anti-aging technique called Bellanina Facelift Massage, to massage therapists, estheticians at spas and resorts around the country. My dog, Ling-Ling and I call North Carolina mountains my home but travel back and forth to Ann Arbor, enjoying my time in one of my three Bellanina Guest Houses. What a life!
Nina Howard purchased this house in 2003
I rented this property in 1994 on the first floor and began working out of my home offering massage and facelift massage. I also painted abstract art in the front room of the first floor. As time went on, this building turned into a Spa and I took over the second floor. Now, a couple of decades later, this building has re-invented itself and houses an apartment upstairs and the offices to the Institute and Spa downstairs. This property has been a gift to me and allowed me to re-invent my businesses over and over again!
Unique benefits in Kerrytown - the list is long:
Kerrytown Concert House next door (I've listened to Wynton Marsalis LIVE while lounging in bed sipping champagne); The Farmer's Market across the street; Kerrytown Shops and great food, shopping and cappucinos; Zingerman's a block away; Bellanina Day Spa down the street - A MUST FOR R & R!
We have stayed all over Ann Arbor for the past 7 years - visiting our daughters at UM. The Bellanina Guesthouse is the very very best! Outstanding charming apartment, well appointed, high ceilings, hard wood floors, greta light, super comfy king bed, good futon for our other daughter, sweet kitchen with coffees, teas, and very well organized. We could put yummy supplies from the Kerrytown shops and Farmer's Market (right across the street) in the full size frig. Cannot overstate how excellent the location is. Walk to Main Street, meander to the Farmer's Market, Zingerman's, Co-op, campus, everywhere. There is a good off street parking spot as well. The den with supplies for doing business tasks was great. Sweet bathroom with plenty of hot water. if anything the photos don't do the Guesthouse justice. We loved everything about it and appreciated the extra touches, clear instructions, recycling bins, and all the little extras. It was so festive there that we had our graduation "picnic" in the kitchen and the 4 of us enjoyed the amenities immensely! If we are coming back to Ann Arbor we will definitely stay at Bellanina if it is available. Thanks, Nina, for such a wonderful spot. Truly a gem in Ann Arbor!
Nina was very responsive and helpful in responding to our questions. The apartment is in an old building, but it's beautifully decorated and very well supplied with anything guests might need. We had a wonderful stay and would be happy to return. Our only hesitation is that we feel it is somewhat overpriced.
I've stayed in this flat twice and would stay again. Comfortable and relaxed with easy access to anything in downtown Ann Arbor.
The Bellanina Guest House was an extremely comfortable place to stay with tons of amenities (including a speaker system wired throughout the house to enjoy tapes & CDs); a kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, coffees & teas; and you can't beat staying in Kerrytown. Highly recommended!
We loved our stay in this cute and comfortable apartment! I would highly recommend to other travelers. Great location for walking and entertainment, with good restaurants close by.
I can't imagine a nicer place to stay - cozy, close to everything - and stocked with everything I could possibly need. Thank you for the wonderful apartment - and I also visited your spa - which was STELLAR. All best to you.
Nina is an amazing host, and the apartment is beautiful. The location is in perfect walking distance to shops and restaurants, I recommend Zimmermans for breakfast.
I am a repeat customer, and highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ann Arbor!
