Offering rare privacy, 'Farfalla Hill' is located on 5 acres of woodland in the East End of Provincetown at the edge of the Gallery District. Magnificent views of Cape Cod Bay are easily seen from both floors of this house.

Set back from Bradford St. on a private drive, you'll still only be 2 short blocks from the bay, a 2 minute walk to the Provincetown Theater, a 5 minute walk to the gallery district and East End restaurants, and a 10-15 minute walk (or quick bike ride) to town center.

This home was recently designed and built by the owner, a furniture-maker and sculptor. Traditional architectural detailing, stonework, and woodwork create an atmosphere of relaxed luxury. As you enter through the custom tiled foyer, a wide stairway immediately invites you up to a large open room on the 2nd floor. Massive wood trusses support a cathedral ceiling lending a lodge-like character to the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas. Beautiful views of Cape Cod Bay, framed by grand oak trees are seen to the South. The 18 windows in this room open to the prevailing breezes that come in over the water.

A large rustic stone fireplace, exposed wooden roof beams, and a 5'-6' grand piano grace the living area. The generous gourmet kitchen has stone counter tops and modern appliances. The dining area seats 8-10. A large deck offers even more expansive bay views.

Three bedrooms are on the first floor level and include a master suite with attached large custom tiled bathroom and walk-in dressing area. Doors from each of the bedrooms lead out to the deck that surrounds the outside the first floor level. An outdoor shower is tucked into the corner next to the stone chimney.

The laundry room, also on the first floor, has a full size washer and dryer.

Parking for four to five cars.

I purchased this 5 acre parcel of land in 1995 and have designed and built 4 custom houses here. My experience as a furniture designer/maker has enabled me give special attention to the finishes and detailing of the houses. There is a three house compound at the bottom of the hill. Hidden Gem in P'Town

This is a beautiful home, hidden away in a wooded area, yet only minutes from the buzz of Commercial St. The furnishings and fittings are like a boutique hotel; you'll wish it was your own home! Rick is a terrific host, meeting us on arrival and providing local chocolates as a gift. Its so quiet at night, you could be in Truro, but you can be in the hub of things in a 5-10 minute walk. There is a playground and basketball court down the street for kids. We would stay here again with pleasure.

gourmet rustic oasis in P-Town

Rick has constructed a home in the hills above Provincetown that serves up woodsy tranquility with great bay views. Located amongst trees and gardens the house is well thought out with up to date amenities . There is a huge amount of space so a family or group will not be bumping into one another. Rick is an owner giving his guests good value for their money down to the smallest detail. I have been coming to the Cape since the 1960's and have experienced all types of properties thru all stages of my life. This is the best I have ever rented. I felt it was worth the price. Beautiful property, great views

Spectacular property. Beach castle on a hill. Nestled on a secluded lot on a hill. Short walk into center of town. 3 wonderful bedrooms, full laundry room , well equipped kitchen, dining balcony with grill overlooking the bay, even a grand piano. This is no tiny beach cottage.

Outstanding property, great location and host

This property is one of the best in Provincetown, and I almost hate sharing good news about it. The house is stunning- meticulously designed, well furnished, and located on a quiet hill in the East End. The pictures don't do it justice. The owner is one of the nicest people you will meet- very easy to work with before and during the rental period, and genuinely interested in you enjoying the property. A truly wonderful experience all around.

Great place for family gathering

The home and surroundings are beautifully done and spacious. Everything we needed was provided and of exceptional quality. The quiet serene location close to town was ideal. Rick was an excellent, amicable host. Farfalla was the perfect vacation spot and since it was he first time I rented a home, I felt we hit the jackpot!

Located at the very tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown has a life uniquely its own, steeped in history dating back and beyond the Pilgrims’ First Landing in 1620 and the Mayflower Compact, but alive today with a cosmopolitan community renowned internationally for its diversity and cultural sophistication.

In spite of almost 300 years of community life, Provincetown still looks and feels like a remote fishing village in a deep-water harbor. Once one of the most productive whaling and fishing ports on the East Coast, today it is homeport to the whale watching fleet closest to Stellwagan National Marine Sanctuary.

Families today come in all shapes and sizes, be it traditional families, single-parented families, adoptive families or families with same sex parents. Provincetown nurtures and welcomes all families by offering a plethora of unique activities for families to enjoy together.
