This family friendly virtual waterfront holiday home has all the answers. Our large holiday home offers comfortable living for 1 or 2 families. It is welcoming in its private and peaceful for overlooking a beautiful bay. A single vehicle sandy laneway goes past the house to 3 more properties. There is a great choice of beaches from quiet and safe wading with a 40 metre walk to the steps down to the beach. Park Beach surf beach is a 5 minute drive away. Boat launching is also only a 3 minute drive.
Easy living with an expansive open plan kitchen and living area which leads to double doors opening onto a waterside deck. A fully equipped kitchen, with quality appliances. Polished floorboards compliment the home throughout. This area is warmed by a free standing wood heater or the convenience of a reverse cycle air conditioner for heating and cooling plus a ceiling fan.
The kitchen has a basic pantry with most of the condiments that you would need.
The large pine dining table seats 8 and 10 at a squeeze and has an overhanging light. Plenty of seating zones with 4 leather couches, and the house is furnished with rustic pine pieces of furniture. The 2nd living area is smaller with 2 couches, chairs and is an alternative space.
The 5 bedrooms have fixtures and furnishings that compliment the rest of the house. The 3 queen size bedrooms are situated well apart with 2 single bedrooms side by side. 1 of the single bedrooms has a trundle bed as well.
2 bathrooms, 1 with a bath, vanity unit, separate shower and toilet. The other has a shower and a toilet. A washing machine and trough are included in the 2nd bathroom.
A multitude of options exist from the private and sheltered deck overlooking an established garden at the back of the house, which has a barbeque.
We are surrounded by a number of beaches and waterways. The area is surrounded by water, whether you are into swimming, surfing, fishing or just lazing or walking on the beaches. All are within walking distance or a short drive from the house.
Within a 3 minute walk along the beach, tide permitting, brings you to a children's playground and boat launching ramp, or alternatively a skate ramp is nearby.
Dodges Ferry is a small township (population around 3,000) on the eastern side of Pittwater and is a great base to explore all the major tourist attractions around Hobart.
Only 30 minutes from Hobart city, 20 minutes to airport, 20 minutes to the north is the historic town of Richmond and the Coal River valley and many wineries. 45 minutes to the south is Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur.

About Angela Wood
I have lived in Tasmania all my life and simply love it. I am retired & love the world of travel. We have always used self contained properties like ours when we travel so I have an understanding of the needs of travellers. Hence a comprehensive pantry etc. & many extra's in the kitchen.
Angela Wood purchased this House in 1985
Why Angela Wood chose Dodges Ferry
This has been our family holiday home for 30 years and is still used by our family. It is not a modern style home with extensive big white floor tiles, etc. It has a lot of natural Tasmanian timbers & furniture, and unique character. We love it and we hope you do too.

Could not have chosen better
Don't know why anyone would not enjoy staying at this location, everything laid on, plenty of room to move, great location with the beach across the road, even some provisions provided which was appreciated. Our bed was so comfortable, very hard to get up in the morning, I even checked the name of the pillows they were so good. As it was a bit cooler when we were there it was great to be able to light the fire at night. Would certainly recommend for larger groups, but as there were only the two of us we closed off the area we weren't using.
Comfortable, spacious holiday home
More than the pictures represent, what a wonderful home! Everything a family (or even just a couple) could want...waterfront with magical views, front and back decks, a more than spacious combined kitchen and lounge, 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and then a second retreat for the kids to knock around in. Angela was extremely hospitable, providing cleanliness, beautifully made beds and plenty of visitor information. The property had ample crockery and kitchen ware for the family dinner, sun beating in and so much character. You can see this home has accommodated Angela and her family over decades, with family photos displayed and divine furnishings. The beach is right in front and we watched the most sensational sunsets.
This is a home away from home, perfect for entertaining a group of 9, it’s charming, it's warm and cheerful and it’s a get away we'll be sure to return to. See you next year Angela, If not before.
Beautifully presented and comfortable
Fantastic home, great location, perfect for groups... loved it! We will be back.
Not as nice as pictured.
The house was older than expected and very cluttered.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Promenade! The house was well equipped and very clean and tidy, easy to keep warm and was in a perfect location for us. Instructions left were easy to follow.
Magnificently located property with stunning views on a quiet street just a few seconds from the water's edge. Large, spacious rental with decks front and back and two separate inside areas to relax. Incredibly well-equipped kitchen - could easily cater for 20 people or so! Beds comfy (four bedrooms - 3 doubles and 2 singles), lots of information about what to do supplied, books, logs for the fire in winter. Five very selective adults loved staying here!
Excellent IGA supermarket, butcher and baker a few minutes walk away as are several different beaches. Dodges Ferry itself not the nicest of places and sadly missing a cafe for a good coffee. But it's still a great place to access the Tasman area and east coast (and Hobart 30-40 minutes drive).
