A lovely little cottage

  • 4 of 5

It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, although the Boranup Gallery and Cafe is literally 3 minutes walk and there are chalets and other properties located close by. The cottage is cosy, but I agree with another reviewer in that the bedrooms are not heated so the additional blankets provided are needed in the colder months. It was clean, the shower was good however I would recommend a stronger exhaust fan as it can get quite steamy in the bathroom.

The two single beds pushed together were not comfortable to sleep on so I would recommend a new double bed or two singles that are at least the same height. The oven would occasionally go out while cooking and I am not sure if this is due to how it is vented as it sounded like air was coming in when the wind blew.

The location is good and in easy access to all Margaret River has to offer and the drive down was beautiful with all the tall trees.

Beautiful Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

Our family (4 plus dog) spent a beautiful long weekend in Boranup Cottage. The cottage was exactly in line with our expectations. It is very private and away from the hustle and bustle. Lots to do in the area, but equally nice to relax in the cottage and surrounds. Loved it.

Great escape from the Easter crowds At Mgt River

  • 5 of 5

This place is an unexpectedly goodl little find. Feels like you've got the forest to yourself, yet is so close to everything. Blue wrens and kangaroos were part of the morning bush walk through the karri forest each day, before a great breakfast in the nearby cafe. The cottage has a rustic feel no doubt (it is in the bush), but is clean, well equipped and very welcoming, especially for families with well behaved dogs! The log fire at night was really cosy. Nothing was too much trouble for Jane - even on an Easter long weekend. Forest, caves, beautiful beaches on your doorstep. We're aiming to book for next holidays!

Beautiful setting, relaxing stay

  • 3 of 5

A lovely location and a charming cottage. However, during our stay at a peak - and expensive - time of the year (pre-Christmas), felt the place suffered from lack of general maintenence. Needed a thorough spring clean. Several lamps/lights weren't working including in spa area. Frustrating that the Spa needed a plug that fitted properly. Games/video cupboard and brochures need decluttering and lacked up to date information on area such as walks/closest beach info. These issues may have been rectified since our visit. Have no doubt the place can achieve its former glory with some attention as it has everything going for it. Would have preferred to offer this feedback privately if we'd had the opportunity.
