St. Stephen's Cathedral - 15 min walking (1,2 Km): St. Stephen's Cathedral (German: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form seen today, situated at the heart of Vienna, Austria in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Rudolf IV and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first being a parish church consecrated in 1147. As the most important religious building in Austria's capital, the cathedral has borne witness to many important events in that nation's history and has, with its multi-colored tile roof, become one of the city's most recognizable symbols.
Danube Canal - 3 min walking distance from Flat : The Danube Canal, which was years ago also called Viennese Water (Wiener Wasser), became revitalised and developed in the last few years to a new hot spot. After years of negligence new opened beach bars, clubs and cafés illuminated the area.
The surroundings along the Danube Canal provide different kinds of leisure centres and party locations, but also landing places of the Danube shipping, like Twin City Liner or Vienna Roundtrips.
The Strandbar Herrmann, near to the Urania, was the first location, which started into the new season this year. With filled up sandy beach, deck chairs and delicious cocktails and food it establishes as a famous beach bar.
The Adria Vienna, near the Salztorbridge, gleams in new brightness with its new built glass house. With the Mediterranean kitchen it is an essential part in the revival of the Danube Canal. Also the Tel Aviv Beach is conducive to the reassessment of this gorgeous area. A beach in the middle of the city invites to relax in the sun
Palace Urania reachable within 3-4 min of walking: The Palace Urania is a public educational institute and observatory in Vienna.
It was built according to the plans of Art Nouveau style architect Max Fabiani (a student of Otto Wagner) at the outlet of the Wien River and was opened during 1910 by Franz Joseph I of Austria as an educational facility with a public observatory. It was named after the Muse Urania which represents Astronomy.
During World War II, the Urania was damaged severely and the dome with the observatory was totally destroyed. After its reconstruction, it was reopened during 1957. The observatory itself has been continually improved technically over the years.
Presently the Urania also has seminar rooms in which wide-ranging classes and lectures are given, a movie theater that screens at the annual Viennale movie festival, and a puppet theater created originally by actor Hans Kraus.

Wonderful Apartment - Highly Recommended!!!!
My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 2 nights. We have only positive things to day about it (we travel a lot, having stayed at many apartments with a price range of 85-120 euros per night). The description is absolutely accurate - it's spacious, clean, comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen,10 mins walk to Old Town. It also faces the courtyard so there is no noise of traffic or people whatsoever. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes nearby - I'd like to recommend a great restaurant "Makone's" located at Marksergasse, 5 - Georgian cuisine, amazing food!!.
The owner of the apartment Mani is a delight to deal with! Not only was he extremely professional and courteous before we signed up to stay at this place, but also helped us with matters not related to the rent of this apartment! Thank you very much, Mani, for everything!
Overall, I'd say this is a wonderful place to return to after a long day of sightseeing. We will gladly be back to stay there!
Wonderful location, nice place to stay
The apartment was nice. Excellent/ideal location and had all the things we needed. The owner was very good. There when you arrived and happy to help. The city is, of course, wonderful.
Some small signs of wear on the coffee table, but nothing to worry about.
Sehr gut. Eine nett wohnung.
We loved this place. The location is wonderful and Mani was so helpful in getting us settled. It was a perfect base to use to discover & explore the Vienna area. A few of the apartment's amenities could benefit from replacement (ie., new cups & crockery in the kitchen, new tables in living area which have been damaged by other guests), but none of this affected our stay. We truly loved our time here and would return without hesitation.
It is as it is shown! Secure, good location, helpful host
Nice little apartment, well located. Host very helpful and met us when he said he would. Good to have a washing machine to do a few clothes after travelling
We enjoyed our stay.
We loved the area, convenient, quiet, and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the Wien Mitte train-metro station.
The building itself is also very quiet. The apartment is airy and comfortable, well equipped.
Communication with Mani, the host, was easy, at time of booking and when we arrived. He always responded immediately.
25 minute walk to the Vienna core. Bathroom and kitchen are clean, new and well appointed, furniture is on the basic side. Very quiet by night. If you drive, there are several parking options nearby (5 minute walk) costing from 20 to 50 Euros per 24 hours, depending on which one you choose. (Parking restrictions in Vienna freaked us out)
All of our furnitures are new our couch is an expensive designer couch, bed is a practical bed with 4 large drawers under it.
To Vienna core is exactly 17 min. Walk if you don't do sightseeing while walking (core is not all Vienna).
To the ring street which is the beginning of center would be 5 min. Walk.
Sorry that you got upset because of parking situations in Vienna.
Travel Information: If you are flying to Vienna, we recommend the City Airport Train (CAT), every 1/2 hour from Vienna airport to Wien-Mitte Station. Wien-Mitte is 4 minutes walk away from our apartment.
