Excellent place to relax!

  • 4 of 5

I had a wonderful four night stay on my own to rest and recharge. Everything I had hoped for with the character and peace of an old Queenslander,

but so very comfortable and clean.

It's worth mentioning that the shower may not be suitable for mature guests or anyone with a slight physical disability. I found the shower over the claw foot bath very charming, but I could see that the narrow nature and slightly difficult curtain situation without railings could be a potential safety concern. Only mentioning it as it's the only shower/bath on the property and would hate for someone who isnt particularly agile to have an accident if they weren't forewarned. But linen and beds great, spotlessly clean, amazing tranquil views & location and really an exceptional holiday 'home'. Thankyou so very much!

Gorgeous place to unwind!

  • 5 of 5

Whispers at Kenilworth is a gorgeous place to stay if you're after a peaceful and relaxing place to unwind and take a break. Beautiful scenery to wake up to and a well equipped house to be at home away from home. It also has a wonderful back verandah to spend the morning sipping a tea or coffee or the late afternoon enjoying a glass of wine. The complimentary homemade marmalade was a lovely touch too! I'm sure we'll be back to stay again.

Relaxing, fun, welcoming

  • 5 of 5

Whispers was everything you could want from a stay in the country. Unpretentious, welcoming, and thoroughly relaxing. The kids loved the canoe on the river, while we loved drinking coffee on the verandah watching the kids happily feeding the obliging cows in a nearby paddock. The wood fire was wonderful too.

Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a week here. It was exactly what the doctor ordered! Clean fresh air, beautiful views, lovely canoeing on the Mary River, lots of dog walks and sitting on the deck drinking wine! The Homestead was gorgeous. It was so well furnished we felt very spoilt. I especially loved the oven and the coffee machine! We also enjoyed having the fresh fruit and herbs growing in the garden to use in cooking! I could sit and stare at the magnificent tree out the back for hours. Many many thanks!

Owner's Response: Thank you Katie... our children always called it the story book tree - Jack lived up there! Real coffee, fresh herbs and fruit are just what you need when so far away from the supermarket! We hope to welcome you back another time. Summer is great for wallowing in the river on a hot day.

'Life in the country"

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay ~ Thanks Elin and Rick.

Kids were up with the cows and out on the property before the dew had dried. There is so much to see and do for all ages. We spent ages down at the river canoeing, fishing and skimming stones. Will definitely come back in summer when we can swim too. The fruit and veg garden was a bonus and the boys loved foraging for herbs for salads and fruit for morning tea. We loved sitting outside watching the cows and soaking up the Winter sun while the boys did boy things. We managed a few walks and the kids did a few trips out on their bikes. The house definitely met all our needs. Can honestly say there wasn't a single thing I'd wished I'd brought with me.
