Private and secluded this charming cottage is perfect for anyone wanting to visit Santa Barbara and get away from it all. The sitting room has vaulted ceilings and romantic fireplace, the bedroom has a four poster bed and there is a sofa bed in the sitting room.
There are pocket doors between the sitting room and bedroom. This is the perfect place to relax, and unwind be it swimming in the pool, playing tennis or enjoying the many activities that Montecito has to offer.
We are an English family and came to Santa Barbara and fell in love with it. We were lucky enough to be able to live here and bought this property which we have remodeled extensively over the years. It is the most amazing place for families and children.
Owner purchased this cottage in 1995
We chose to buy in this area because Santa Barbara is the most beautiful and amazing place.
This was an amazing place! Private and quiet and beautiful! Tennis court and beautiful pool!
A truly delightful way to experience Santa Barbara. Where else can you stay in a stunning private cottage with its own private pool and a tennis court?
I felt like I was in a real English cottage in the countryside except instead I was right near the beach - heaven.
The bedroom and facilities were immaculate and in great working order and the lovely English owner was really kind and helpful. Overall experience was very easy and tranquil from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this and hope to stay here again.
The pool/guest house is lovely. Perfect size for a couple for a getaway. The pool was crystal clear, the tennis court was steps away from the front door. Everything that you would want from a vacation home. Great local restaurants, and fun nearby towns to explore. I would have given 5 stars but there were a few things that marred the experience. The owner is a lovely woman and her dog is cute, but I felt that for $400 a night I should not have been given so many (any) chores. We had to cover the pool at night, unless it was raining then we needed to uncover it and move the cushions under cover. We had to strip the bed, take the sheets to the laundry room, then carry the garbage up the hill to the garbage cans. This is reasonable if you are staying with a friend, unreasonable for a vacation stay. In addition the internet was poor when it worked, which it did not most of the time. Also the decorations (white couches and light colored rugs) needed cleaning. Finally there isn't air conditioning, which was fine because we were there in the fall, but you may want to take note if you are planning a summer getaway. I think with some interior cleaning and a shorter chore list this would be a perfect place to relax and enjoy California.
A complete and other gem. We cycled the area , had great meals , swam , played tennis and relaxed. The guest house is comfortable and well appointed with everything you could want or need. Colette is a wonderful host and is a wealth of local knowledge. Can't wait to come back .
We had a great stay at the charming guest cottage in Montecito! Collette was a very gracious hostess and very helpful and easy to work with! The visits from her dogs were a treat as well! We were in town for a horse show and that kept us too busy to enjoy the pool this trip but we will be returning and hope to be able to stay again! I made the mistake of leaving some personal belongings behind and Collette was gracious enough to return them to me!
Thanks again Collette!
