About Diana Collins

I live and work in London. I am a picture restorer and have worked in the arts for all my adult life.

Diana Collins purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Diana Collins chose Pollensa Region

I was holidaying with a friend who had recently purchased a house in Campanet, and discovered that a colleague in the Antique business also owned a wonderful house on the outskirts of Campanet. At the time there was little available to buy, but my house was available in an unrestored state. I was immediately tempted to have a foot into this idyllic and magical island.

What makes this cottage unique

My house is one of the oldest in the village and I liked the history and character of it. It has spectacular views of the Tramuntana mountains, and has the advantage of being very close to the square.

unique traditional cottage

The house was exactly as shown in the photos and the view even more breathtaking. A perfect location, close enough to Palma, and for exploring the beautiful areas particularly in the north of the island. The temperature was perfect although the almond season was over. We so enjoyed our stay and will hope to return.

Ideal family holiday destination

  • 5 of 5

The property was beautiful just as in the pictures - and worked really well for us as a three generational family. The description of the property was exactly what we were expecting - it was beautifully clean and well presented, it was truly a home from home for us. The owner was extremely helpful before we went and provided clear information to the property and with regards to what was in the area. Although we were told there wasn't a good restaurant in the village we found La Teresa - the outside belied what we found inside (it wasn't well signed) and we had two absolutely great meals there as well as some bar restaurants on the local town square. The village of Campanet is delightful and has everything you need, supermarket, pharmacy, bakery and a fish lady who comes with her van on Fridays. Parking was slightly tricky as we had to find spaces for two cars - and sometimes we had to park a little further away, but that was fine once we got our bearings and the village streets just add to the Spanish charm. The village pool was outstanding - they only charged 3 euros for two adults and the children were free. We found our way there on most days, although we visited two others in the area. The monastery at Lluc was lovely and there was a pool to use there as well. We enjoyed visiting a number of beaches and coves around the island and came back thoroughly refreshed from a brilliant time there. July is very hot in Majorca, but we didn't feel overcome by the temperatures which soared to 38 on a couple of days, there were plenty of fans in the house. It was great to sit outside on the terrace to eat breakfast and dinner overlooking the mountains. We would certainly recommend the house and the area to friends! Thank you Diana for a lovely holiday!

Owner's Response: Dear Mary, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It really is heartwarming to hear that you all had such a good time. You have have taught me about the "fish lady" on Fridays, and I will go to La Teresa the next time I am there. Thank you for your tolerance with the slight difficulty of parking in a typically Mallorcan village - Like you I usually find a solution! Many thanks and appreciation. Diana

OUR THIRD STAY AT THIS MAGICAL VILLAGE COTTAGE!

  • 5 of 5

All was just as described - and more! Diana was most helpful prior to our arrival

and her hideaway holiday home exceeded our expectations. All was spotless, well maintained and with best quality fittings, furnishings and bedding. Her 'House Book' gives a comprehensive list of tips regarding the best beaches, restaurants and sites to visit. We would thoroughly recommend that the reader of this review shares our own hilltop Mallorcan experience based from this charming cottage - we've had three visits so far and hope to return again in September, 2015.if time and booking availability allows.

A TOTAL GEM

  • 5 of 5

We've had two family holidays in Diana's wonderful house in Campanet with our 2 children and we absolutely love it.

The house is tucked away down a very pretty street in the village and has exquisite views from the back over an olive grove and mountains beyond. Being there is immediately relaxing - it's quiet, calm and beautifully decorated. There's a shady terrace which is great for eating out on. The house is well equipped and comfortable - good internet connection, washing machine and dish-washer - and well furnished.

The village of Campanet is enchanting - it's in the heart of one of the few remaining unspoilt parts of Majorca and you can wonder up to the traditional square from the house in a few minutes, where there are good places to eat and drink. There's also a bakery, small supermarket and pharmacy.

This is a perfect base both for chilling out and for exploring.

Can't wait to go back - highly recommended!

A wonderful, quiet, restful delight!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six have had the most wonderful holiday here for three years in a row and are heading back for a fourth year this July. the cottage is beautifully neat, clean and charming. At the back is a lovely patio with superb views over the mountains. Mornings and evenings here are delightful. Two minutes' walk away is the village square which is a very relaxing place to sit for a coffee or a simple evening meal. The staff are very friendly and across the square is a very reasonably priced little supermarket with everything you need. Pollensa and Alcudia are only 20 minutes away and all the beautiful beaches. We have had a truly wonderful holiday each time and Diana is wonderful to deal with. Book this traditional cottage and you will never regret it!

What a great place!

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks in Diana’s house this summer with our two kids – 2- and 4-years old. The house is absolutely amazing, furnished with an excellent taste creating an unique atmosphere. Breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening in the terrace with so beautiful views is an unforgettable experience. Campanet, a regular mallorcan village, is the best choice for everyone looking for the place far away from “zona turistica”. Listening goats bells from nearby olive fields we have recalled a book by Geral Durell “My family an other family” (although Mallorca is not Corfu…). The A/C would be helpful due to really hot August nights, but not critically necessarily. This is the place ideal for a wonderful holiday time and we can honestly recommend it… :)

Campanet is an idyllic village with marvellous views just south of the Traumuntana Mountains. It remains a perfect area from which to explore the island. The village itself is local and unspoilt as yet by tourists. It is close to Palma ( a 30 minute drive ), and benefits from the square and church where the local festivals take place, or simply a place to relax and enjoy the local atmosphere.

The Caves of Campanet are magnificent and a local attraction.
